Lesson I learned from this serie is: POWER is a killer as it can change people. She sacrificed everything for the good of the nation but in return she lost her faithful husband and the esteem of her children. The minute they stepped in in the palace she had already lost it all.I believe they would have still be faithful to one another and raised their beautiful children in a peaceful atmosphere had they kept their civilian life.She was naive to believe he wouldn't change once he became emperor but she realized it too late that they no longer had love but respect for each other. So sad.

The empress deserved better. The emperor who has been with her for so many years who should know what kind of person she is ( she isn't some stupid irrational person) shouldn't have failed her and blamed her. Her children were pretty rotten. Ugh at this point I wish she would have married someone else and never ended up in the palace.

For me this is not a sad ending..They lived their lives having 10 children and starting at a very young age, loved eachother deeply, were respected and honored.All the rest would be science fiction.This is a realistic , historic drama about family, respect, honor, politics and history.Actors played wonderfull job.Drama is different then Legends of Dugu which is maybe for younger audience.This was a mature masterpiece.I thank people who are doing translation for these dramas- Stay safe and blessings!

Sad for Jialou (Empress) She would have live longer if it wasn’t for kids to turn bad.. Anxiety, stress, depression, mentally, and etc cause her life span to deteriorate.. She supported Jian all her life..

Interestingly enough, historically Yang Yong didn't go crazy. Rather, he was put under house arrest by the parents, but the overseeing of the palace he was in was given to Yang Guang and his clique... And so Yang Su told the emperors that he was crazy, just to isolate Yang Yong so that their plot does not get revealed. Even more interestingly, this doesn't show how Yang Jian died. It is likely that he was assassinated by Yang Guang... So Jialuo was right about him. This and other reckless behaviour ultimately turned the public opinion against him and ended the dynasty.

First and foremost, I would like to thank @top Chinese TV series for having this splendid and wonderful story, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, I laughed, I cried,I got angry, sad,depressed and joyful. The staff and directors did an amazing job as well as the actors and actresses portraying their characters exceptionally well and thanks for the English subs I hope so see many more drama like this 👏

The only sad ending to this beautiful story is the fact that her beloved daughter, whom she almost lost 😞 her life to give birth to her and loved her so much always there to protect her failed to make peace with her 😭😭😭😭😭 she’s dying both kept asking for her daughter that’s sad

So both Jialou & Jian never gets to know or finding out that their Son Prince Gaunger helps kill his Father baby brother when he stab a sword in his chest or did they know but writing team didn't show it, but I still feeling sorry for Uncle death to he didn't deserve that, Jian & Jialou basic helps raise him to when he was a teenager kid, Prince Gaunger Of Jin is very calculating devious, manipulated but smart clever skillful to Indeed, like Jialou said to her Emperor husband Jian, and He but choose to igore her warnings, aless he already knew and never told and never told anyone, but Jian treated his oldest Son like crap tho, he was kind but didn't care much for his family because he felt abandon by them, and he was mistreated by his Dad Emperor Jian which Jialou tried to tell Jian to treat him kindly becuz they raise him, but Jian didn't listen to her when it comes to their eldest Son The Crown Prince, even Empress Jialou knows her younger Son is very calculating and manipulate however Jialou still loves all of her children no matter, even her eldest Son who She favor as Crown Prince, but She still loves all of her children, no matter what, becuz they came from her belly, they all of her children and her Emperor Jian children, and Jialou said a Mother knows Her child, so she already knows that Prince Gaunger Of Jin have done to, as Emperor Jian probably knows to.

I really learned from this movie Greedy can't be covered by love Some don't understand what it takes to be nice in every aspect, This movie increases my knowledge to know who I stay with Can't forget this movie so easily #jialou's roll is very incredible Love from# Nigeria

Wow! Such an amazing drama. I love and enjoy it so much. This last episode is so heartbreakening. Got me in tears. All the actresses are so good at their role. But storyline for some parts weren't clear and thorough, overall the plot was still good. Most of all thanks for taking your time, devotion, and effort to finish subbing this drama. It was a good drama and for sure power corrupts even good people. I am really sad that she loved her children and devoted her life to them and her husband but reality is no one helped her in her time of need, even the husband ignored her. She was depressed but her children were not concerned about her life. What a sad ending. But l salute her for her love, she gave it all.

I’m sad but more disappointed in the ending but maybe that’s because it’s so real and I’ve been watching dramas where everything works out in the end and the couple lives happily ever after maybe it gave me a false sense of security lol . But I kind of expected it to end this way because it never got better only worse since they walked into that palace.

Bc its just words that are said to make you feel better with no way to know if what is said is truly how one feels. He says he did wrong and wants to grow old with her. Took him how long to figure it out? Too little too late and yet again she's the one who forgave first.

What i learned from this drama is towards the end her husband turned to be like her first love Yong who was still love with her. When he slept with that crazy Wenji, he was acting like it was no big deal which made me shock and mad since he was acting all high and mightily in love with his wife the first 47 episodes. This drama carried on too long before it get interesting around episode 10 to 20. I don't like how they rushed the ending. I was expecting soo much make to happen but I was soo disappointed with how it ended. The brother who killed the uncle didn't even get punished and then the poor crown prince went crazy. His baby momma and his baby disappeared around episode 40 and was never to be heard again. We don't even know the whereabouts of the first prince who was sent away when they poisoned his dad I binge watched this hoping it would get better. When i thought ut would, the ending is a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Definitely a one time watch for me. I'll give it a C rating.

This drama series is just like the series, "The promise of Chang'An". The second half could be eliminated. The strongest enemy was killed in the middle of the movie and after that it's just totally a waste of time.

Get rid of the pathetic Crown Prince and the ending is acceptable. The Empress is noble and all around her are weak deceitful family. Her husband betrayed her so her heart is broken. Both sons can't be Emperor for that matter with all the evil situations.

When the emperor ask the the queen not to leave him because it wouldn’t be right without her, then why did he mistreat her and ignore her and blame her for every little thing that went wrong. Another scumbag for a king.

Guess the show decided to end right before when the crown prince decided to kill the emperor and just gave a brief synopsis . Probably more depressing with that ending.

I am conflicted. I feel like this drama let me down the last five or six episodes after what was a wonderful series with a devoted intelligent couple. I can fully understand how the previous second Emperor became corrupt after he took the throne because he was obsessed with the FL and jealous of her relationship with the ML from the beginning. The only change was that he got more power, became more entitled, and was consumed with envy. His son the third Emperor was a spoiled, ignorant, gluttonous, lustful jerk from a child, so his horrible behavior as an Emperor was also anticipated. However, that is not the case for the main couple. They were both raised in honorable, trustworthy families that understood the dynamics of the court and rebuked its corruption. Their entire upbringing and decades of marriage were a testament to this fact, and it was displayed in their actions, beliefs, and how they raised their children. The only people who remained true to the original story to the end were the ML’s emperors’ brothers and the FL. The main couple’s daughter and son were raised judiciously, and lovingly. And yet, the first chance the main couple’s daughter had the opportunity to marry the second emperor’s son, she became a hateful, greedy, despicable person, even towards her loving parents. What? The main couple’s sons were raised to be honest, truthful, and true to the country, and yet when their father became emperor, they had a personality transplant. The youngest son’s envy was remotely understandable, as he was taken from his parents at birth and not raised with love. However, he was observed growing up to be studious, honest, and a thoughtful child who despised the crown prince’s behavior and treatment of others. Wenji’s storyline was an insult to the viewer's intelligence. She witnessed her father’s abuse, and terror, and she feared him. Her childlike mind wished for the ML to be with her mother and saw the FL as a threat to her fantasy. Okay, that was her childlike mind. However, she aged and grew up in a temple with forgiving, self-reflecting, forthright people. She even hid from her dad out of fear and PTSD, when she recognized him. And yet she went from that to hating the main couple and blaming them for the demise of her family. I guess she also had memory loss or a brain transplant. Her father was drinking and beating them before the ML ever crossed paths with them on the streets. Wenji’s grandfather despised her father for his behavior towards his family. But somehow Wenji forgot all of this. Wenji’s aunt had an emotional affair with her childhood love and the FL promised to keep it a secret. Her affair ruined her marriage until her husband eventually forgave her many years later. She witnessed all the righteousness and lack of corruption within her husband’s family interactions. Her father took his own life out of loyalty to another emperor, not hatred toward the main couple. However, after going through hi and lows together, she snapped at her father’s funeral and made it her mission to destroy the main couple for no logical reason. That is why I felt like the writers took a well-thought-out good drama and then killed it towards the last 5 or 6 episodes for no reason whatsoever, leaving me heartbroken and insulting my 45-episode loyalty. Are we to believe the ML went from being devoted to his wife for decades and numerous trials and tribulations, to being rude and uncaring towards her? No! Also, I wanted an update regarding the first emperor’s son and second wife.

This was not a very good ending. The story had to much going on and to much enemies. This is probably why it only had 40K views. This is one series i will probably watch only once 50 ep wasn't really worth the time to watch

I do not accept this ending. I II take this, they killed the bad guy (minister), the emperors brother ascended the throne and did great, Jialou and Yang Jian lived happily with their children. Becoming the empress and emperor was the woes' thins that could happen to this beautiful couple, her family was destroyed in the end. I shouldn t have seen this drama.

I could the Emperor just abbandon his older son, I don't get it? The Empress failed big time with her children. The youngest son was a mix between the two. He was evil from head to toe.
