In ancient India, archery was considered highest form of fighting. While sword and mace was considered lower form. Thats why lord Rama, Arjuna. All the greatest warrior of ancient India were all archers.

Parusharam another incarnation of Lord Vishnu, uses parsu or axe, Krishna uses Sudarshan Chakra, each weapon have its value.

@Hindhurastra yes it does. But please read Shiva Dhanurved. Its clearly written in that Archery is the highest form of fighting skill while mace and swords are lower. Even Lord Shiva Himself is called Pinaka-hastaya. You will find that maharathi is always seen on a chariot riding while using bow.

@@dumdumdumdum8804 Shree Krishna uses Sharanga Dhunsh in most of his wars. Sudarshan he mostly used to execute. Yes Lord Parshuram was one of the best. He mostly used Bows like Vijaya in fights. Even that when he fights Bhishma. He uses bow instead of axe. but yes his skill with axe was unparalleled. He chopped Thousand arms of Karthiveerya Arjuna Shahastra Arjuna who was incarnation of Sudarshan by the way. But bow is said to be highest form of skill. You dont believe me. Please read Shiva Dhanurved Samhita that was written by Maharishi Vashisht

Just FYI, there is an excellent book about archery called Dhanurveda, which gives instructions on different bow types (for example, masculine bows for closer range and feminine bows for longer ranges), arrow types (including those one could use to intercept enemy arrows), different stances, doctrines, materials for bow and arrow construction, training, etc.
