I love 2011 Leorio's voice!

Kurapika’s ‘99 voice sounded much more convincing as a male than his new voice actor.

I like both of Leorio's voice actors.

I didn't expect to like the English voices, bc I watch the sub for HXH 2011, but I have to say I really like most of the ones for 2011! Leorio's is perfect, so's Kurapika. I think the voices fit their characters perfectly! Gon's voice isn't too bad either. The only one I don't like is Killua's. It's a little too high pitched for him, and I wouldn't imagine his English voice to sound like that. For Killua's comparison voice from the 1999 HXH, I don't think it exactly fits his character, or I guess fits what I'd expect him to sound like, but I actually really like the voice! Maybe not going with Killua, but I think that voice actor is really good. She kinda sounds like whoever played Clause in Fullmetal Alchemist. I should search that up lmao

Okay to be honest, I don't see why the vast majority of you are bashing on the 2011 voice cast. I respect that it is your opinions that you don't like or are neutral to the dub cast in the 2011 version (particularly Cristina Vee as Killua) and prefer the original dub cast of the 1999 version due to nostalgia and being better voiced than the former. But frankly, just because you don't like the voices in the 2011 version doesn't mean you should bashed them "Till the Cows come Home". Give the dub and the new voice actors a chance, the first 5 episodes just aired on Toonami and their are 143 episodes left to air, and so far, the new dub cast for the 2011 version are doing an incredible job, I especially loved Erika Harlacher's take on Kurapika.

1999 Killua is sooo good, he actually sounds like a kid

this anime has an upbeat intro but when you actually get to at least The Yorknew city arc you certainly cannot smile again

Leorio's voice actor is the same as Mccree from Overwatch, that's cool, i didn't notice the similarity.

Wow... the 99' version suffers from what most anime during and before those times, which is bland acting. I'm very happy that the standard for voice acting has been raised since then.

Kurapika's subbed and dubbed voice actors in the new anime sound almost exactly the same.

I like Killua’s old voice. It was more original and now the new actress I can really hear the girl in her voice .

I prefer the new actors especially Killua and Gon's new actors.

So weird that everyone is saying 2011...1999 is way better. Their voices matched their faces perfectly. Why the shit did gon's voice become higher and kilua's voice is devoid of malice, he sounds just like any other kid. I think the new voice actors destroyed the emotional value of their respective charactors

In my opinion the new Gon voice is better then the old one, sounds more like a child his age should sound, while the old one sounds to...old really. The new one for Leorio sounds better to, it simply fits him much better if you ask me. Can't decide for Killua and Erika, both sounds great to me for each of them.

I think the 2011 version of Killua sounds too much like a girl...for me the best one will always be the 2011 japanese version!

I like their old voices way better! Killua had more sass, and he actually sounded like a spunky little boy. Gon's old voice makes me nostalgic and reminds me of Ash Ketchum from season 1.

Leorio: 1999 he sounds more professional which makes sense since he wants to be a doctor I do think both voices suit him tho Gon: 1999 he sounds more mature but 2011 if u him to have a kid voice Killua: 1999 the voice is very unique and I like voices like that Kurapika: 1999 or tie Because in 1999 he sounds more like a boy and in 2011he sounds like the girl version of 1999 voice Don't get me wrong I like both voice actors from both timelines they both suit them very well but I personally prefer the 1999 versions

Gon's 2011 is adorable, I love both Killua's voice, 1999 gives the sassy ex assassin vibe and 2011 gives the cute but deadly vibe! Kurapika's 1999 sounds more male but Erica Harlacher's voice is awesome too and deffo 2011 Leorio!

I feel like Erica Mendoza was better at being Gon. Reason 1: He sounds like something he would in the anime and 2: He sounds like what his personality is based on and seems quite enthusiastic like he would be in the series.

I watched both versions of the anime and enjoyed the voices and animations of both of them😄💙

Though I like all the voice actors, I started off watching the 99' anime in Eng Dub while watching 2011 in Eng Sub so it's gonna take a while to get used to the new ones. However, if I were to pick favourites, they'd be Killua & Kurapika from the 99' version and Kurapika & Leorio from 2011

So far I'm not 100% sure which voices to chose. The only voice I am sure about is Kurapika, I think that Erika Harlacher did an amazing job as him, to me it sounds like she put more emotion in her portrayal than Cheryl McMaster did.

Screw those of you who are hating on Vee cuz 2011 Killua is best Killua. I do like 1999 Killua’s voice though don’t get me wrong. But if you pay attention throughout the 2011 series Killua’s voice becomes more and more mature which is somewhat cool and something the 1999 version lacked

I like all of the dub versions except 1999 Gon. There’s not much range in his voice.

I like the newer version a lot more it just really fits their characters more

0:47-0:57 is what would I envision Lincoln/Ace Savvy's English Voice if he is voiced by a Woman for the first time and for a Genius Bonus for one of us who are Loud House and Madoka Magica fans, it would make his connections with Homura Akemi (both in the Japanese and English Voice Acting side of things) finally come in full circle.

Killua's 99 voice actor is really good but everything else is okay

I believe whatever voice your introduced to first you most likely like the best. As most people who’ve saw the first one prefer them but me only seeing the newer voices and hearing these old ones I prefer the new ones. The old sound like the stereotypical voices girls use to sound like boys. The newer voices for me sound more realistic

I'm conflicted - I prefer the 2011 voices, but I actually like the 1999 anime better. (at least up to York New City) I will say though, I do think Killua's 99' VA is a bit better. Cristina is a talented actress, but I wish she was using a deeper voice for Killua. (like her Sailor Mars voice in Crystal) Maybe she'll grow on me the more I watch.

I’m just patiently waiting to hear the voices of the Chimera Ant Arc in English. While I think Erica Mendez does a fairly good job of portraying Gon in English, I just can’t imagine that voice screaming in pain like Gon does at the end of that Arc.

I might be a bit harsh here but I am but with an exception of Matthew Mercer as Leorio. I don’t think any of the voice comparison sounds good or even like boys. I am sorry but all of them sound too female then male. I don’t have anything against women voicing boys as there have been some good voice acting in shows such as Black Butler, Digimon, Ben 10 and The Simpsons. The only difference is that they actually sound like males. Don’t get me wrong Erica Mendez, Erica Harlacher and Cristina Vee are all good voice actress in general. But here they don’t impress me like the 1999 voices do. So I will go with the 1999 voices but for Leorio I will go with Matthew Mercer as he sounds pretty hilarious, he also seems to have fun voicing this character. Sorry but in present day woman who aren’t Tara Strong, Laura Bailey or Alexis Tipton should stay far away from voicing young boys.

I said this on my BTVA account but I honestly like Blue Water/Cheryl McMaster's Kurapika voice. Elinor Holt's Gon is weird most of the time it sounds pretty bad but here it got potential, I prefer Erica Mendez though. Anika is definitely my favourite from the 1999 dub but Christine got better although Anika is still what I have on my head thinking about Killua. Erica Harlacher really... doesn't fit, she makes him sounds completely detached 99% of the time, Cheryl's acting is not always great but she at least seems to have a bit of openness to her take and wasn't just aloof. Leorio's voices though... not sure which one I like more they fit really well.

I like all of em equally because in the 2011, Kurapika and Killua's voices get deeper.

My favorites: Gon - 2011 Killua - Definitely 1999 Kurapika - Tie Leorio - Tie, leaning towards 1999, but still a tie

Gon = This 1 is actually hard, I feel like both VAs fit the build of Gon in their own way. Killua = Annika Odegard's stellar performance as him during 1999, actually shocks me to find out she's only voiced 4 characters in her career. Kurapika = I love Kurapika(especially in the manga), and I prefer his 1999 version. However in terms of an English dub, 2011's Erika did better...over time. Leorio = Jonathan Love felt like he portrayed Leorio so well in 1999, especially when his tone needed a shift.

I love Killua's 2011 voice, and I don't care what your guys think. Christina Vee is the perfect va for Killua, at least to me.

I lean towards the 99' voices being better, but the two that really stick out like a sore thumb are Gon and Killua. 2011 Gon sounds like a One Piece character, far too high energy and cartoony, as though the VA was told she'd be fired if she didn't act her heart out. 2011 Killua on the other hand doesn't sound like the VA tried hard enough, she simply doesn't sell the illusion that I'm listening to a boy speak. Leorio I could take or leave, but I still prefer the 99 version slightly, he just sounds more like a real person.

I'm fine with the change in Leorio and Gon to a lesser extent, but I really hate the voices for Killua and Kurapika. Kurapika isn't as bad but he lost that very calm and collected voice in the 2011 version. As for Killua, they completely ruin the character with his voice, he sounds like a little girl which ruins the whole "assassin" vibe that he's supposed to give off.

1999 VA's are much more convincing. I just like the base in their voices more, especially since the characters are all guys. Leorio's voice for example just isn't consistent in 2011

its strange hearing killuas dub voice so early on since i missed the first half of the exam arc and it really makes me appreciate how far cristina has come with her role as killua. same way with erica and the rest of the 2011 dub cast. theyve all been great and have improved a lot in their roles a lot. one of the best dubs ive ever seen for sure 😊

Fun fact: The 2011 dub voice of leorio is the same voice as keisei tagami from an anime called Corpse princess which alot of people dont know (It's a really cool anime you should watch it)

I had no idea there was an English dub after for Hunter X Hunter 2011 I only knew the Japanese voices since I can only watch on Netflix but since I've been watching the Japanese Dub it's hard to imagine the characters having these different voices so I'm going to stick the Japanese ones because they're the ones I'm Familiar with

From dub and sub, Mr. Mercer is the best Leorio. Fujiwara is also fitting this role, but Matt simply sounds better
