Hi Music Lover,
During the last few weeks I was on a Holiday trip to Austria and France. I’ve done a lot of cool activities in nature with the Family. As always I had my guitar with me. I’ve played my guitar most of the days. This fingerstyle arrangement for the song Englishman In New York was one of my projects during these weeks. It’s a great arrangement by Chris Murrin form Six String Fingerpicking. I find it a tricky arrangement, more difficult than it seems or is rated at. I’ve practiced specifically to play it very clean, which is hard due to the speed and all the hammerons and pulloffs. I’ve tried to practice it slow with a metronome for a couple of minutes each day to see where that would bring me.
I’m content with the result, but I’m always slightly disappointed with my performances, because I’m a perfectionist. But I also want to finish this project and move on. This recording is the best of my current ability. And my discontentment is positive, because it’s my drive to continue on practicing and improving myself.
I've recorded the audio with my 'phone-on-knee' recording method. The audio is edited with the free app Audacity and the image is recorded separately and later merged together with the audio. This way I have the best audio quality I can create with my current recording equipment (only my smartphone) and also have some imagery to make the content interesting enough for KZfaq.
