I'm someone who has become comfortable with the two basic tenses and am at ease when helping young jr. high students wrap their minds around them but ... as the more advanced tenses have been introduced I 'had' struggled with presenting, explaining, and ensuring the students understanding and sense of ease in using...I am so much more confident now. Thank you! well done.

Before I watched this lesson I hadn't known the past perfect confidently. Before I came to England I had already passed the most difficult situation ever. By the time I joined to the university I had already done my GCSE course. When I met my boyfriend I hadn't bought a house but I had had a red car. I went to the big park in London and I had seen lot of wild animals but I hadn't seen a lion. I had never been in America since I was born. I hadn't seen my family for six years. I had just had my shower. Had you had a nice car? Where had you bought that dress? Had she known where we are? Teacher could you please check my examples? Thank so much for sharing an interesting lessons!!!

Great. 5) 'I went to the park' happened first. So it should be 'I had gone to' ....and I saw a lot of....but I didn't see.... 11) the last one : Did she know where we were/we had been 4) You can also say, When I met ... I had no.....but I had ..... 6) ...... been to America ......

I've never understood this tense 100%. So, hopefully I will have understood it by the end of the lesson. I'll be editing my message. Edit 1: Ok, so because I'd already been reviewing this tense for a few months before I watched this video, I already knew how to use it. But I'd still misuse it occasionally. That's why I wanted to master this tense. Edit 2: I have not really learnt much, but at least I'm having some fun while re-studying it. Edit 3: The lesson's done. I think I pretty much know when and how to use it. Thanks for your wonderful lesson.

Hi Teacher. I had spoken to her before I came to London. I had learned some words in English before I came to London, but I did not. How to use them until I watch your lessons. When we arrived, the meeting had started. By the time I moved to London, I had learned English, I had met many friends, and I had learned cooking. When the police arrived at the scene, the criminals had already left. She had left the party before you came. Before I sat he had pushed me. Before I left home I had taken a bath. Before I left home I had brushed my teeth.
