Great video. Most times too, those easy shots require the most amount of focus on the fundamentals. My background is tennis prior to pickleball. The greatest tennis players aren’t solely great because they hit difficult shots. They’re great because they have the focus to hardly miss the easy ones. Opponents have to beat them because they won’t beat themselves. Same could be said for pickleball too.

The best pickleball instruction on KZfaq! I know it may be a lot for those new to the game, but it is incredibly helpful for intermediate players trying to level up to 4.0/4.5. You do an outstanding job of teaching strategy and technique simultaneously:) Keep it coming please!!

HUGE tip from Connor: allow your drops and dinks to hit around the opponents feet while playing in a point. This makes it harder for the opposition to get the ball back up and over the net. I have definitely proven this tip works in real matches at ANY level of pickleball...thanks again!👍💯

My partner is about 5 feet 2” tall. When she hits a smash it’s rarely high enough to get over the net. It’s an easier shot when you are taller.

On overheads the problem i see the most is players getting anxious and taking the ball to early and hitting it in the net. I always say no one is going to tackle you as you touch the ball with your paddle so relax its all yours. Wait that extra 1/2 second and smack that ball down.😊

so how do you feel about intermediate players playing against novice players, 1, for court time and 2 when they use smashes or even any kind of shot they know a novice can't return just to win a point and the game so they can stay on longer? I've had some recent experience with this and it's really frustrating.

I think beginners should stay playing with beginners or intermediate beginners for a while, before they join intermediate and advanced players, otherwise, nobody will have fun. I m a beginner, I know the better players are not my coach and they are not obliged to play with me or to be gentle.
@chinbanger1947

I would much prefer to play with anyone that's better than me. I'm not necessarily an intermediate yet, but I'm in between being a beginner and being even more advanced. You elevate your game when you play with better players and a better players. Don't want to play with me. That's fine but I'll hold my own the best I can. Way too boring for a more aggressive beginner to play other beginners

One error I see Intermediates do with the NVZ Smash is running up to get set, hit the ball then step forward into the NVZ. Planting your feet first is Key but hard to do in the heat of the moment :)

I've been trying out the Luxx for a while and I haven't seen a big drop in power. The trade for the softness/control is worth the small amount of power.. I'm 6'3" 250lb. So power isn't really a problem on most shots.

@@SDPBALLCOACH I was more joking than anything. I have a friend who is about a 4.25 playing regular with it, and he just struggles with some finishing power. It’s probably one of the best right side paddles around though.
