Jay was nervous coming to this interview bc he hasn't been using english a lot but I'm glad Eric encouraged him by saying he sounds great and Jake would also wait patiently for him when he's composing his thoughts in english. Watching him be louder and more expressive as the show went by once he started to loosen up was so fun. He sounds amazing and I hope he continues to be more confident with his english! I wish more people could give Jay love in the comments section.

Jay isn't that fluent, I believe. As I remember he only lived in Washington during his younger years but before he went to Middle School they already moved back to Seoul. That explains that why he can't converse in a English language eloquently. He can understand though.

You've been working so hard, you have perfected your Korean speaking, you've learned Japanese and been so helpful to Niki as he learns more Korean and English, and you've studied French. I agree and you have two Korean Americans here from opposite Time Zones Pacific Jay Eastern Eric Nam and a Korean Australian Jake. Eric Nam got used to Australian English by taking to the Australian K-pop line. If not used to Australian English you might need to get some resources to help you bridge the differences between Australian and American English

This man is hilarious😍 I remember when the members chose Jay as the member who most reliable for variety show, and then Jungwon said: "When we do shows with only the members, Jay's really high tension. @@_skayno I don't think so. Jake speaks more fluently in English. He couldn't attend Korean school when he moved back to Seoul, so he had to study in the International school. When they play any games that need to read or write in Korean, he always need other members' help.

I'm an Engene and at the same time fan of Eric Nam, I'm so happy to see Jake and Jay talking in English. Jay may felt nervous because he doesn't talk English that much when he returned in Korea but he did so well on this shoot. I'm a fan of Enhypen from I-Land and will continue rooting for them on all of their activities and hoping to see them on their world tour, same with Eric Nam.

jay isn’t really of a talkative type during interviews but jake, on the other hand, is a genuine empath, a talker, he knows how to carry himself and get the conversation going. jake was definitely in a leader mode today😌 he just managed to be so effortlessly funny while also being honest and humble. i’m glad jay has become more comfortable throughout the interview and i hope we’ll see other fierceful sides of him in the future as well 💓 thank you so much to eric nam for having our boys today. this interview was very friendly and overall smooth and i, as an engene, got to know new sides of them that pretty much completed the whole picture of their unique personalities which makes me happy because i know how genuine our boys are. This is actually the first Daeback Show ep I've ever seen and it was so much fun! Jay and Jake are the cutest and I really enjoyed listening to their stories. And hearing Jay and Jake talk in English more was amazing! Hope we get to see another Eric, Jay, and Jake interaction in the future!

I love getting to see Jake and Jay interact with Eric on daebak because the conversation always feels like a catch up or like an older brother giving younger siblings advice. lol the mix of Korean and English made it fun to see, Jay getting nervous for speaking in English was surprising since his colloquial skills were pretty on brand for the US and he’s pretty talkative when engaged. Eric has a talent at making guest be at ease and just chit chat for funsjes. Imagine when Eric hangs with all 7 members, it’ll be chaotic and fun. Hope they have a fun and safe tour!!
