Science now supports a fun and easy way to boost cognitive function, connect mind and heart, and break up old traumas held in the body, while supporting your blood, digestion, and immunity.
It’s an ancient practice called brahmari pranayama that releases nitric oxide lying dormant in our nasal passages. I’ll unpack each of these fascinating elements in this video and the associated article!

stick your thumb on your nose, and ensure your hand is rotated so your fingers are up towards the sky (very important). place your thumb against your nose firmly pushing to tibital-bronchal bone slightly upwards. next squint your eyes 90% and curl your bottom lip. then while holding your thumb in place move your fingers freely. this will increase nitrous oxide by 500%!

Humming activates the vagus nerve, which in turn activates the parasympathetic nervous system. A good thing to help us de-stress.

This is one of the very best explanations of 'humming' that I've seen so far on KZfaq. One thing that should be said is that, according to very reputable research done in Sweden, you receive the elevated levels of Nitric Oxide while humming, only on the first four breaths that you take.After than, your levels return to normal (in terms of Nitric Oxide). The great news is that, if you then wait for three minutes, your nose 'resets' and you again produce the high levels of Nitric Oxide (for four breaths). Of course, if you just want to practice this for the spiritual benefits, then by all means do it for as long as you wish, but just know that, if it's high levels of Nitric Oxide that you want, only the first four breaths will give them to you.

another thing to add: Infrared rays also cause microcapillaries to release nitric oxide into bloodstream, which in turn helps the microcapillaries expand, better mass transfer (toxins out, nutrients in, better blood flow through microcapillaries). it is why, on a cold day, when you go into the sun, you feel that amazing sense of relaxation where the sun hits (well, at least I can feel it! ) Lets all go sunbathe AND hum! Thanks for all your informative vids!! reference: some papers I read years around 5 years back, Japan

I have been a nose breather for few years with good benefits, I breath through my nose at night and get a good nights sleep, when I wake up in the morning I am in the same position I fell asleep to, I am a jazz musician I play clarinet normally when taking a breath it’s through the mouth but if I decide to play a long sustained note I breath through my nose down to my diaphragm and the long sustained not is easy, oh, and I’m 81.

The research I read on this breathing technique says after four breaths (inhale, humming exhale = 1 breath) the nitric oxide nasal store is greatly reduced and then to wait 3 minutes for replenishment before resuming.

"My Doctor of Ayurveda taught me how to breath through the nose and to apply the humming with the mouth closed. He said to make the sound of a bee. In now have been doing this for a good 10 years now when I meditate and even when I ride my mountain bike throughout the island of Phuket Thailand where I live. I sleep outside in my garden for the oxygen-rich negative ions in the air plus the ozone in the air from the thunder and lightning. In complete darkness with no BLUE LIGHT and no dirty energy of EMFs as well. We practice Energy Medicine for our valued guests at our retreatCertain foods are very high as well in nitric oxides such as the following foods such as all leafy greens which are also high in the fat-soluble vitamin K-2 such as KALE and ROCKET Arugula Leaf including Beets. The Yogis of India would do this often. My favorite pose for my 2 times per day meditation morning and evening is not the popular lotus pose with legs crossed sitting on the floor which is hard on ones back and spinal curve and blocks blood circulation in the legs for some people. I do the corpse meditation pose for laying flat on my back with my knees bent to secure my bare feet flat to the ground called EARTHING or Grounding and my hands are flat to the earth to increase the energy electrons into my body the will improve blood circulation as well. As per correct vedic technique the humming is for the word AUM or OM....which starts with ÀAAAAA....then to OOOOOO...and then to MMMMMM. There is enough medical research of chanting Aum benefits. Your spinal cord is strengthened through the vibrations caused by sound of Aaaa. As this sound is generated from abdomen, it helps to strengthen the supporting muscles of the spinal cord. The sound uuu is created by vocal cords which benefit the thyroid glands and the throat.

When you hum, press your tongue lightly to the top of your mouth, right above your teeth, and feel the way it changes the vibrations. Dear John, our internal organs also need exercise i.e. occasional movement. Through Pranayam, we are able to cause movement of organs which otherwise can not move physically. See movement is life and stagnation is death. If a person is unable to move his body in bed due to advance illness, within no time get develop bed sores. Through Pranayam we are able to move our brain which is most important organ of our body. If brain is sluggish or it disfunction, all other system of the body disfuction leading to quick death. Please pronounce bhamri correctly i.e. bha m r i, very simple. There are other pranayams also which are equally important for brain, one of them pronouncing Aum.

Very cool! Does ingesting nitric oxide in the form of supplementation actually get the molecule to the alveoli or can it only be done through breath work?

Any particular tone octave we should humming at?
@JeffCaplan313
@JeffCaplan313 3 жыл бұрын
It's less about how the humming sounds to your ears and more about where you feel it in your body and to what degree. The key is focusing on the sensation of the vibrations in your nasal cavity (or other places, if you want to experiment).

It is Indian breathing exercise which we follow every day. You must follow bhramri by Udgeeth pranayama. If you do both you will be benefitted. Apart from these benefit your memory will be very high . Just do and get benefit. Actually you should do seven pranayama daily for an hour.
