The Turkish Women's Olympic volleyball team, also known as Filenin Sultanları, can win the gold medal or at least a medal if they effectively utilize Ebrar Karakurt and Melissa Vargas. In recent matches, Cansu Özbay has struggled to do so. Why Elif Şahin is the better Setter and currently ranked 167th while Özbay is 284th? For more than two years, it has been clear to anyone who loves volleyball, including players, trainers, and clubs, that Vargas is currently the best and most effective female volleyball player on earth. Why Özbay remains ignorant of this is beyond me. Perhaps it has to do with the VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe rivalries.
