@asmongoldsmouth98392 жыл бұрын
Consider this. At a resolution of 8K (7680x4320) is optimal for a 36"x24" print-out. After that is artifacting in the print. So depending on how large you want your prints, you better have a generous setup. I'd recommend no smaller than a 32" 4K TV or monitor to work with editing. I will add you will want a 100% sRGB accuracy monitor like an AU Optronics. BenQ uses their screens. Best color accuracy in the world.

I've been wanting to learn more about this -- thanks for the great demo. QUESTION - if you do the enhance, does it increase the size physically also, if you are making a print? OR, if you are then going to make a print, and potentially print it at a smaller size -- will it still be alot sharper? Still trying to wrap my head around it. Hope you can answer here. :)
@asmongoldsmouth98392 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. More pixels equals larger dpi (dots per inch), which makes the image print-out larger. example: 1800x1200 resolution (1800dpi by 1200dpi) is the best quality suggested for a 4 inch by 6 inch photo print-out. You can get away with 1920x1080 resolution (aka 1080p) at 4x6 for a print-out. Nearly perfect quality. So if you use this super resolution (super-sampling) to double the resolution to 3840x2160 (4K) you get a nearly perfect printout at 8x12 inches.

Can you open a .jpg & do this AI Enhance process without using Camera RAW? Can't find an answer to that
@johna.benigno41723 жыл бұрын
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. When you run the enhance feature it doubles the pixel size of your file (and you can see the increased size in the size information at the bottom of the screen) -- for example, 1000 x 2000 becomes 2000 x 4000. When I run this feature the pixel size remains the same (the size information at the bottom of the screen does not change). I've tried this with RAW files, JPEGS, and TIFS and I get the same results. I've tried it opening files from Bridge and from my external drives and I get the same result. If you have any thoughts about this, I would greatly appreciate them. Many thanks.

It creates a new file and places it next to the original. The original is unchanged, look for the new file called "enhanced" I thought I showed that on the video?

AI's Preserve Details 2.0 is especially great if you play with the Noise Reduction slider underneath, or at least choose "Automatic" as an algorithm so that Photoshop automatically determines the Noise Reduction for "Preserve Details 2.0". Overall, it should work better than Camera RAW's depending on the subject matter.

Hi, my question is how would you save a super enhanced image for web?
@jaspervanderveenvdvmedia88853 жыл бұрын
so I got a question, what's better: first make your edits in for example Lightroom and photoshop and get your picture done and THEN let it upscale via bridge. Or first upscale the picture and then make your adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop?
@sclogse13 жыл бұрын
Edit first. Larger file editing eats ram, etc.
@ogg66o3 жыл бұрын
Hi Colin. When using the High Res, should you apply it before or after processing the image ?
@photoartsacademy79493 жыл бұрын
I would do it before, but I don't see why it wouldn't work after editing also. I did some extreme testing from a 640x426px image and was able to apply super resolution 2 times for total of 16x more pixels (2560x1704 pixels, I tried to upscale one more time but it wasn't really looking any better). I compared to the original at same size and while the upscaled version cannot beat it, it was a MASSIVE improvement compared to the low resolution image I started with. This tool is going to be amazing for those tightly cropped shots. I noticed that applying a bit of noise to the parts that have details before the second upscaling helped (works wonders on ground and other textured surfaces), it fools both your eye and the AI to make it seem like there is more detail than there actually is. Also, making couple of layers with 1px and 2px of gaussian blur with ~20% of opacity each helped; applying super resolution increases edge sharpness a lot and it starts to look really harsh on the second run without some smoothening. Anyways, I was able to get better looking results in all sizes doing it like this, rather than just running the super resolution once. It's a bit of hassle though.
