An American group, the Ames Brothers did a version of this that is extremely good. I haven't been able to find it on you tube however. This is a beautiful rendition....thanks for posting it. I always associted Ennio Morricone with Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns up 'til now.

Je connaissais la mélodie mais réorchestrée par Morricone c'est sublime. Le film c'est tout simplement un des grands chefs d'oeuvre du cinéma mondial avec un De Niro au sommet de son art.

@spudgunne Right...Morricone just arranged it to make it sound even better then the original ( normally it is sung... and that is another matter...I grew up listening to Amapola being sung by the greatest voices...love all of them...only if I were forced to choose one version, would I choose Morricone's )
