Its new permission time! In this episode I am going over a brand new permission with my Metal Detector to see what treasures are waiting to be discovered. This one promises to be good as the area is drenched in history!

Hi Michael, great timing on your video. I was sitting at a gate waiting for the landowner to let me in. I’m going to be removing some weeds, brush and small trees for fire prevention. I bring a detector along just in case these places look good and ask for permission for after the job is done. Nice finds! John

That is actually a great opportunity for you to detect some yards and houses John and, a very honourable thing to do in the act of fire prevention. I know those fires can be bad out your way. Stay safe buddy 👍👍

Hi Michael that first buckle is a 17th century (to 1720) one, so much earlier than you thought. Good hunt 👍

Heart-stoppers - don't you just love 'em! I was in a corner of a field last week where I kept hitting targets with banging tones and numbers, each of which revealed another round, silver object... and every last one of them was a tarp eyelet. Not good for the old blood pressure, that's for sure. Another excellent vid, BTW. Keep them coming!

Haha! Great comment. Yes heartstoppers… the worst is gold foil. Every time I see that stuff a vision of a gold angel or leopard leaps into my mind 😂👍

Unfortunately Glen it is almost impossible to film me digging out every target and still put enough hours into metal detecting. I used to do live digs but the editing involved was insane. I will always try to say what the target number is and will record the odd live dig from time 👍👍

Cracking video young sir, and a Hammmmmmnered. Well done. Had my first cart wheell penny last week and cleaned artesealed and framed and gave to the farmer. On the same field confirmed but waiting to go on museum website roman pendant,, roman gaming pieces and ranking button. Well done Michael, Hammmmmmmmered and 2 bloody cart wheel penny's.. .🎉

Great stuff mate - always nice to start out on a new permission eh?... Really like that farming token - I feel sure they wud've been 'rough imitation' pennies, paid by the farmer to the workers... This would've been a cynical ploy to force them to spend it on the same farm's produce, (keeping the money 'in-house...'). Potentially grim behaviour, but still a bit of interesting history if so... Anyways, thanks as ever mate... Bobby 🐭

Bobby 😃 yeah that’s a really good option actually, I didn’t think they could be imitation type things but that does make allot of sense. I do love finding farmers tokens, I’d prefer it if they didn’t look like staters though ha! 😃👍

The little lead thing could be half of a cloth seal? the two half's are usually joined together wit a little piece of lead, that do the others look like?

The round lead pcs look like old bullets that hit a rock and made them flat just a thought great finds I realy like the farmers token like to no more on them we don't have them here in the US

Just wondering if your little decorative buckle is actually older and could be a Georgian two piece, shoe or knee buckle? Lots of potential with the two cartwheels, plenty of history there. Always a favourite find of mine , great clip , all the best Andy
