Totally agree - they're wasting an amazing defense. Poor Chris Jones - knowing that this might be his last year with the Chiefs - having to front up to the media game after game to explain what went wrong. He should start saying "Hey, I did MY job, ask those bozos on $10 mill a year" (MVS).

Poor Travis. He didn't say a word about Toney ruining his amazing play. I don't think it's the motivation of WRs at this point - it's lack of skill and awareness. This is on Veach for not trading before the deadline and overpaying people like MVS.

Im sure Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman...all really successful players who didn't have too much of a problem with "passionate" sideline conversations with teammates did alright. As long as you are doing it on the sidelines and not in press conferences these professionals should have enough self-awareness and thick enough skin to take the feedback and do better. The problem is Mahomes has taken it too far. He's not just sticking up for teammates that are in the wrong, he is making excuses for them to fail again and placing blame on the officials now. That doesn't fix poor play, it just enables it.
@smurfynj2448
@smurfynj2448 5 ай бұрын
Exactly. When Brady cussed out officials he went in front of the media to say hey we should have been better and it’s not on the officials. Tom would call meetings to get the team on the same page and playing better. Mahomes isn’t Brady I know that but my point is he has to get his team on the same page and not enable bad play by blaming officials. It’s not going to help.

Mahomes has every right to call out receivers. And before people say “well what about Lamar” he won an mvp with those same receivers so either he got worse or that year was an outlier. Statistically this team right now has the worst receiving core in the last decade. They have the most drops in the last decade statistically. If I’m Mahomes I’m telling them how it is. But behind closed doors. Not to the media. He’s a professional after all.

No one is arguing that this chiefs receiving core isn't worse then lamars past receiving core. But the conduct between the two and how they are differing between each other is what is key. Mahomes is great but he's letting his frustration get to him right now. It's honestly amazing how bad the receiving core is for the chiefs right now. Lamar didn't try and go fight a ref over a call. Lamar hasn't publicly berated the officiating crew, if he did we'd hear it every week for a month straight. I feel bad for mahomes, but he's gotta keep himself together and focus on the team not the refs.

According to the Giants, Toney was hopeless and they are thrilled to trade him to the Chiefs. The coaches have to give Toney a way to catch and hold on to the ball. That works for Toney some how.

Mahomes calls a team meeting to apologize for his behavior, at which time he explains why the drops, the penalties, the bad routes, and lets them know that he works to hard to allow drops and POP WARNER stuff to be a part of this offense. Let them know, that this one is in private, the next one is in PUBLIC!

if there ever was a time for pat to call out his receivers...it's not this year. His play have been well below his expectations...this year. This year....he is good for an INT or 2 most games. Yes, his receivers have multiple drops, but those INTs have close to pretty split accountability between QB and WRs and he's got to look in the mirror too...this year.

For a team to get better, the leader needs to put his foot down and tell the people who is messing up what they are doing and how to fix it. Then and only then shall they get better as a whole

I don't think it's on Kelce. The issue isn't the TE room. They didn't get a veteran WR to put the hammer down.

So Patrick Mahomes was saying he is used to the receivers being warned and such. Those receivers lined up several times off sides during the game and finally the ref made them pay for it. The Chiefs put themselves in that situation to have to count on one last play. How many times did they win games on calls against the other team. Now the chips dont fall their way and they trip out?? Their time on the top is coming to and end "For now"
