honestly, middle school wasn't the greatest time of my life. but this song takes me back to that time while bringing nothing but good vibes.

I have a really specific connection to this song. Back in 2010 when I was 10 years old (and this song was just released), United Airlines partnered with Zune (a defunct MP3 player company by Microsoft) and throughout that year MP3 players were installed in the armrests of every seat on their aircraft, offering 8 different music genre channels and a 9th one letting you listen to the pilot's communication, which was really cool. I was flying a lot throughout 2010-12 with my Mom on United, so I used these free MP3's very often. I remember being the most nervous about landings, so I would always listen to the 'Pop' and 'Electronic' stations while landing while looking out the window to help lol. Two separate times during landings this song played, and it created a specific _intense, euphoric_ feeling of both comfort, and "omg this song is so slay" lol. It prompted me to start my "Airplane" playlist on my iPod, which started with around five songs. Since then I've expanded my playlist to over 50 songs, but the five or so from the very beginning still hit the hardest. So every time I get on a flight I still always choose a song for takeoff then landing, with a 50/50 chance I choose this song and get that same feeling with overwhelming nostalgia. I think the upbeat and happier sound that was popular for the time helped a lot haha. If you're still reading this I love you lmao and you haven't succumbed to the current ADHD tendencies of a short attention span!!! I also remember thinking he and Pitbull were cute lol, maybe they had something to do with me liking latino dudes 😂🤷‍♀ especially Pitbull with how present he was in the early 2010s
