Entenmann's Louisiana Crunch Cake Copycat Recipe - How to make a glazed crunch cake

A delicious copycat recipe of the famous Entenmann's Louisiana Crunch Cake. I turned a standard "1-2-3-4" cake into something wonderful!!
Important Notes:
Oven temp is 350 Degrees
Bake for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean
Let rest in Bundt pan for 10 minutes before removing (please be careful not to break when removing the cake! This is why the non-stick spray with flour is essential).
Items you need:
Non-Stick Cooking Spray
Bundt Pan
Stand Mixer
Glaze Ingredients:
2 Cups of Powdered Sugar
1/3 Cup of Melted Butter (salted)
1/4 Cup of Condensed Milk (or regular milk)
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
(extra milk if the glaze is thick)
Cake Ingredients:
3 Cups of Cake Flour
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
1⁄2 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
2 Cups of Sugar
1 Cup of Butter (softened)
4 Large Eggs (room temperature)
1⁄4 Cup of Sour Cream
1 Cup Of Buttermilk
2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
1⁄4 Cup of Granulated Sugar
1⁄4 Cup of Sweetened Flaked Coconut

In your video I didn’t see you add the sour cream and noticed it in the ingredient list after my cake was done :( it still tasted great though and I won’t forget it next time :) thanks for the great recipe!

Thank you for the recipe, it looks I will be trying it very soon. I have a question when it comes to the Cake Flour is it necessary to use it. I do a lot of baking and Cake Flour tends to be very expensive.

@Carol Hall: You can make your own CAKE FLOUR. please visit "Pinterest" (www.pinterest.com) TYPE IN: HOW TO MAKE CAKE FLOUR "OR" HOMEMADE CAKE FLOUR Cake flour has corn starch added to it and it is "SIFTED" many, many, many times (this help make the flour/cornstarch combination very light, which is preferred for cake baking). You can also GOOGLE the topic HOW TO MAKE CAKE FLOUR "OR" visit www.ehow.com for how to mix your own CAKE FLOUR at home! :-D The site will give you the proper measurements (flour & corn starch ratio) and how many times you need to SIFT the ingredients to get it to the proper consistency. No matter where you look online, you will see this exact recipe, from food.com to Roseanne Rosanadana. The recipe rocks. I'm just wondering where the crunch comes from?

Yes, it's a very common 1-2-3-4 cake! The crunch comes from the coconut flakes that are typically in this recipe. They are put in the pan before the batter is put in.

I’ve made this recipe 4 times now within the past week and it has came out the same way....idk what I’m doing wrong but the top half of the cake is cooked and the other bottom half isn’t. I’ve tried adjusting the oven temperature bcus I thought maybe it was too high but it still comes out the same way every time.

This makes me so sad. I have never had this happen to me Khari. Why don't we try something different. Why don't you put the oven temp down 25 degrees, and bake it longer? Do you open the oven in the process? I can't imagine why the bottom would not cook through as that's the part that is closest to the oven burners. When you say "not cooked" are you talking liquid batter or when you stick a tooth pick in it does not come out clean?

@Khari Moore. I wish I had run across this channel sooner, but if you get this reply you need a bigger bundt pan. I know that sounds weird, but it is a lot of cake mixture. Get the Wilton anniversary bundt pan. It is a deeper pan and I am sure you will get a cake that's baked all the way through. I use to have that problem and a bigger pan solved it for me. im sorry but i notice your butter is NOT really moving along with the beater ..you may have to adjust your mixer....to lower the beater head just a TAP! they have instructions on google on how to adjust the beater on your stand mixer
