Somebody may have already said this, but it's incredible how much Jason's bass supports and fills out the drum riff. It's like the bass is the wave and the drums are a guided boat. Listen to the drums on their own and they seem very empty and spare.

I listen to a lot of isolated tracks and this is one of these stronger bass sounds and tones I've heard bar none!

If I remember correctly, they had the band playing along with Lars while Lars tracked. So you're hearing James' rough vocals there
