KCI is one of the most uninteresting decks to play against and the win rate is crazy.

In the opening shot, "The perimeter lights on the sign are STANDARD YELLOW"... what does that mean? Why is there a road sign saying that?

What... what happens when it’s 2025? Will it still be m25

Packs On Packs the abbreviation for Masters 25 is A25, so if core sets still exist then it will indeed be M25

Tyler, I went to the Vegas GP and I did suck and it didn't matter because I had an amazing time. My win-loss record may have been awful but I didn't care because I had a lot of fun.

i went 0/5 at my first pptq and 2-4 drop at my first gp, but failure is the best teacher. after one year i made day 2 of 2 gp from 3 and i won 2 pptq and top8ed most of them. but we are all kinda bad at the first time, but if you learn something by losing games at the first, it's all that matter, cause it will make you better. it's ok to suck and to do bad results, but as long as you learned something that will make you better, that means you didn't lose ;)

Tyler Van Tuinen I won nealry 2000 prize tix at my first GP doing side events only. They only last three rounds each, and they fire all weekend. The double ups are good value, and the pros are all in the main event.

dont go for the main event. There are so many side events like draft, sealed, modern, standard, legacy, brawl, vintage, commander. And even if you lose its so much fun

Just do side events, GP's are really fun and would recommend.

great video, i really wish the game has the same appeal to me that i grew up with, ive been playing since revised, but anymore, the game angers and frustrates me, i think its because i want something im not getting from it anymore, enjoyment, but i keep trying to chase it, to no avail

Magic can be frustrating. It depends on what you get out of it, if you’re not having fun, give it a break, maybe come back to it. I’m very competitive and I love winning, a lot of things can go right and wrong during the course of a game and it’s fun navigating that part. I understand I’ll never be the best player but I want to be as good as possible, I’ve never played competitively, it’s actually kind of intimidating. I hate losing, I also prefer playing online but I do like playing EDH with friends. You should check out MTG Arena, it’s not as cut and dry as MTGO and it’s visually more appealing.

Ive been playing mtg arena since the first wave of beta keys went out, and arena is alot of the reason why my joy of playing has dwindled, like i know people net deck, but at least in paper when i go to my lgs, 1 in 3 decks are clones, most of the time i get to face semi original brews, but all arena is is cloned decks over and over, if i try to brew i lose to tier 1, if i play tier 1 i lose to control, if i play control i lose to rdw, occasionally i get a win, but its really not about the winning or losing for me, its about playing, and arena makes me want to scoop every game by turn 4, because i already know if ive won or lost that game. and i am taking a bit of a break right now till standard rotation happens, but it will just be more of the same, the same 3 decks over and over. and modern and legacy are not options either, its too much money to invest in a mediocre deck, or better

If you enjoy brewing your own decks, then you're probably good at deck building. Net decking is so prevalent now that a lot of people don't even know how to build a deck. I suggest that you try playing draft format, where players are required to build their deck on the spot. Another option is to check out the Old School Magic format and play with the old cards. Their values go up, and the cards never rotate, so there's no value drop after rotation like standard. You'll always be able to get your money back out of the cards if you need to, and you can take a break any time without having to build a new deck when you want to play again. The Old School Magic players are really focused on the love of and nostalgia for the game, where having fun is more important than winning. Edwin the Magic Engineer here on KZfaq has great budget deck tech videos if you're looking for ideas on how to be competitive without the power nine.
