They say we learn something new every day. I never knew this existed. Very interesting and wow so much talk time on them phones to go back and forth ! When explaining everything to us it was hard to understand. Love that yous put Opal on a map. It clearly made sense then 😊

I’ve been in MN for nearly ten years and nobody talks like a Canadian here. Not sure where you came up with that information. Sorry. They don’t say “Eh?” But they do do say “you betcha!” And “ ufda!” The accent here is very much Midwestern. Interesting video, though. Enjoyed seeing the Angle. Thanks for sharing ❤

In this episode we were in and out of Canada. I'm sure we were meeting a mix of Canadians and Minnesotians (is that what they're called?). Love the "dontcha's " too. It's neat that different areas in our country have different dialects and even culture.

@@TheAdventureCloset well, to be fair, I am in the Twin Cities so it’s a conglomerate of different cultures. The further north you go, the more distinctive the accents become. Perhaps I misspoke and for that I do apologize. Keep bringing your cheerfulness to us and Adventure on!

That was really interesting! I don’t know of anyone else who has been to that part of Minnesota. I thought the buoy was interesting. There is one in Key West marking the southernmost point of the contiguous U.S. Apparently that on normally has a long line of people wanting to make a selfie. I wonder if anything marks the eastern and westernmost points. Enjoy Canada!

It's a surprising spot on the map and we're glad we went and saw it. We'll probably never be in that area ever again though. Hopefully we can get to the Florida one and wait in line for our shot too. Good thought on the East or West. Gonna have to look that up.

That has got to be the silliest set up for border crossing, ive ever seen or heard of! That was just ridiculous! I mean you could easily lose someone or get lost, just by trying to follow their instructions! And i never thought i would say this, but i prefer the manned borders! They are way easier! Lol! But that is a beautiful area and the prices on those cabins, which were really big, was fantastic! Its cheaper than a cheap motel is and i bet you its way cleaner and more sanitary too! So if you ever want a vacation getaway that includes the weidest border crossing you could imagine, and leaving the country to get back to the US, to again leave the country and then return to the US to get home, then thats the place to go! There is literally nothing to do when you get there, but its beautiful! Thank you guys for showing us that weird hiccup of the US/Canada. I can die happy now and i dont have to go through that hassle for myself! Taking one for the team! Awesome! Thanks! 😂

It was a little silly. They just took our word for it and we went on our merry little way after 20 minutes of mostly listening to hold music. It was a funny adventure to see not much, but maybe a more memorable one at that. Thanks for coming along with us on this one!

No Charlie it was 200 Celsius they use the metric system in Canada ( I dont know metrics ).. Thank God they let you into the United States from driving less than an hour through Canada , I wonder if any one has ever been caught in Limbo where the US does not let them back in and Canada does not let you stay ?? Also is that a $1000.00 Canadian dollar fine or US dollar fine ? Cause thats only a $760.00 fine if its Canadian Dollars and really cheaper than a trip to Disney Land with less crowds and Nicer people 🤣. And No worries next time you guys are here I got a welder and we can make Opal a true all terrain vehicle ..... Have Great Adventures in our Neighbor to the North and remember their speed limits are in KM not MPH ( But we went to the moon 😜)
@TheAdventureCloset
@TheAdventureCloset Жыл бұрын
Yeah I didn't think about the exchange rate on that fine as well! Almost worth the adventure. lol! We're really going to have to learn the metric system though. It is making us stop and have to think far too much just pricing food, gas, etc. Also, a little French would go a long way as well. We had a moment with a cashier when we casually asked for 7 gallons of water to fill our jug. It was like our minds hit a 3 way stop at the same time.

I've been to both. Next stop will hopefully be the Kentucky Bend. After watching the entire video, one thing became clear. That broken phone at Jim's Corner got me, too. I reached someone, but the line went dead. Arriving back at US customs in MN, I got seriously interrogated, and my car was searched. One of the agents remembered hearing about a dropped call, so they let me go (with no fine).

Still watching the video, and sounds like a fun jump in and out of America,m!! 😅 but to get to Pt. Roberts in WA ST, you also have to cross into British Columbia, turn west and then turn south to cross back into the US. Just a little point of land that happens to be south of the 49th parallel They had a heck of a time getting food during Covid cuz Canada closed their borders.
