The legendary producer and sound system owner, King Jammy, joined the Entertainment Report Podcast for an exclusive and epic conversation while in Queens at VP Records Distribution. King Jammy discussed growing up in Montego Bay before moving to Kingston, his experiences meeting and working with the late King Tubbys, and his time in Toronto, Canada before returning to Jamaica. He also talked about Bunny Lee encouraging him to get into production, hiring Bobby Digital to work at his studio, his transition from Prince to King Jammy, and working with artists like Major Worries, Admiral Bailey, and Shabba Ranks on King Jammy's Super Power. Additionally, he shared memories of three memorable sound clashes with Jack Scorpio and Down Beat, the making of the Sleng Teng and Punnany riddims, producing new artists like Aza Lineage, and much more.

Scientist said he was Jammys teacher and I believe him. You can hear it in their mixes. When Scientist came on the music scene, he changed the Reggae sound to a high fidelity (Hi Fi) sound that no other engineers did and he was the youngest of them all. Bunny Lee always said that Hopeton Overton Brown aka Scientist is the KING of Dub. I know that, again cause the proof is in his works in all the music he Mixed. Jammys also took credit for Scientist. works

He comes to court and tell a bunch of lies talking about he's on the board of directors. This slime ball. is no king. and he could not wait to name himself. King after King Tubbby died.. The princesses no big time engineer. and will always remain my student.
