She lacked credibility. She made allegations about so many people, half of it was probably imagined as she had bipolar disorder. She also tore up a picture of the pope without mentioning it was because of child abuse in the church. She just made herself look crazy all the time and she came across as an attention seeker. She had her own kids removed from her care for not being a good parent. Don't romanticise people. Look at facts.

I'm gonna try to be as respectful as I can because this an extremely selfish thing to say, even if it wasn't meant with ill-intent! It sends the *false* message/narrative that suicide is "selfish" when it's not! People are not machines and everyone doesn't have the same strength levels and they shouldn't have to either! Keep in mind, kids never asked, nor consented, nor chose to be born in the first place! Hell, reproducing/procreating in & of itself because of that fact is selfishness alone. However, that's another topic for a different time. I digress. So when someone takes their own life, obviously they DID DO the best they could to "hang in there" and couldn't anymore! Its like telling someone to hold their breath! Every person can't hold their breath that long and they shouldn't have to and they shouldn't be forced to either! A person shouldn't have to be forced to "push on" for another person! THAT in itself is selfishness! That's like telling a cancer patient to continue taking chemo even after they've expressed how much pain they're in! You wouldn't tell/force a cancer patient to "hang in there" when they can't anymore! So why do so with someone who's ailment ISN'T visible? Suicide isn't about the pain of others. It's not about forcing oneself to live and suffer in pain just so others WON'T be in pain. That wouldn't be fair to the person themselves whom is in pain. Its about the pain the person themselves are in and suffering from! And depending on the severity of that pain, no amount of therapy nor catatonic, antipsychotic, antidepressant zombie drugs will "fix" the pain! So please be careful with this type of wording.
@kikischeifele507010 ай бұрын
@marissa._ I second that emotion! As sad as it is, our children can NOT & SHOULD NOT be held accountable for the grief & pain we go thru as parents or individuals. You said so in the utmost respectful manner & I could not have said it better myself. Our children are not here on this earth to care for us & should not have to bear that responsibility either. It's obviously sad all around & mental health is nothing to joke about or be taken lightly. I wish the peace to be found by all....in this life as well as others. Blessed be to all!❤
@cockeyedoptimista10 ай бұрын
@@marissa._ Hmm. It's good you pointed this out, and you did it tactfully. Also, though, cancer is a terminal disease, while many things that lead to suicide are treatable. You're right (and the person below you): children shouldn't be held accountable for such things. But it's still a good thought, and could be helpful to many. Usually things that seem or feel So awful will eventually pass or can be helped. The mother held on for the sake of her other children. Sometimes people think that no one cares or will miss them. There are many survivors who are glad to be alive.

She has been screaming for help admittedly for 33 years and the fact that nobody heard her is the worst part. This world failed her son, and she was already so broken and so fragike by then it was only a matter of time. I got to see her twice and it pulled my soul out, rearanged it amd slammed it back inside me with such force I will never forget it. Her first album has always been my favorite album of all music. We lost a really incredible person. My heart is broken and my eyes are puffy. I never thought it was possible for me to be one of those girly girls who cry as if they lost a family member when a musician dies. But here I am. I guess when the person is so meaningful to you and the music and protest shapes who you are well ai have no apologies to make that I'm falling to pieces. She has and always will be much more than my favorite singer. She was an idol and will live on forever inside who I am until I am the "unresponsive female" that's reported. She was so broken. Long before she had children but was so unstable and how could we not expect this after losing the love of her life? Her son was so young. So was she. RIP Sinead. Thank you for the major role you have played in my car, shower, stereo and my life. I hope you've found peace finally. You're missed already and the shock has shaken the whole world. We love you. Rest easy with your son in your arms. You never have to let him go again. For eternity.

I haven't heard any local live cover of SINEAD O'CONNOR's songs of late so included MANDINKA in our STRÂNGÉ band's line-up in both our backdoor introduction and official debut at Pit88 last June 17 and July 22 respectively. I never knew our cover would become some kind of premonitory tribute 😭 ...THE LAST DAY OF OUR ACQUAINTANCE, so to speak 😪 SINEAD O'CONNOR (now Shuhada' Sadaqat) was an amazing, genuine, outspoken, mesmerizing, and unique artist and 80s icon. She was a troubled soul but like the child in THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES (also one of her hits), she bravely spoke her truth, refused to conform to expectations, and fought for women's rights. Over the years, YOU DO SOMETHING TO ME and I believe she had made peace with the world with her recent songs of acceptance and hope (like TAKE ME TO CHURCH) but tragedy and a Mother's grief can be something else entirely 😪. May her soul finally find rest in the afterlife with her 17yo son who passed on before her. NOTHING COMPARES 2 U.⚘ #RIPSineadOConnor 😪 #SineadOConnor

Your post was so beautifully-written. I agree 💯 percent with everything you stated. It's such a relief to my heart and soul to see someone who completely understood her. She had such an honest, genuine, and a beautiful soul. The important truths she brought to light, I would have done the same. I was only 19 years old when I was watching SNL with my Dad at the time and I instantly knew WHY she was so upset at the Pope. My respect for her was so strong, and I admire her. I am glad she spoke the truth. I have witnessed horrible, disturbing, wrong doings and was threatened to keep quiet by my former Pastor. I was so frightened and fell into a deep depression and my parents finally sat down with me at home and not once did they make me feel bad as I was so messed up back then. My Father then told my Mom to take me to get some ice cream and go for a nice walk together, just her and I. It was so nice as we just walked and enjoyed the beautiful scenery without even doing hardly any talking. It was beautiful to see nature and enjoy my Mom's company as well as seeing some animals together, just admiring them in their natural habitat together. When we returned home, inside was my Dad, along with two detectives. I was so nervous and full of shame, and had no idea what was going on. I fainted. I woke up in the hospital with my loved ones around me. Long story short, I was able to heal, although it took a very long time. They finally caught the perpetrator after two years. Can you believe that he was being protected by the Catholic church? It added So much insult and more heartache to injury. My parents suffered, and it hurt me deeply to see them hurting. It took such a very long time, through many sleepless nights, crying silently every night so I wouldn't upset my family, beating my self up by believing I must have done something wrong to deserve what horrific things happened to me. My self-esteem was gone. I was so broken and so fragile. Fast forward to today. Justice was served. The abusive so-called "Pastor" is behind bars for 25 years. Thanks be to God!! I'm not as messed up as I used to be. I receive counseling twice a week by a great psychologist, plus I see my general practitioner for my overall health (i.e., x-raya, Cat acans, blood work, physical check-ups. I suffer from a crippling anxiety disorder and complex PTSD to the point that it has taken a huge toll. I'm doing the best I am able to just to function. I am not bitter, but I do suffer immensely. I honestly do not wish this pain on anyone. Take care of yourselves, everyone. You are so worth it, and never ,never forget that YOU are enough! I wish you all peace and true happiness in your own lives! Don't live for others, please! Enjoy YOUR live and do whatever you want to do, to make you, and only you, content and happy! Hugs to everyone!❤ Sincerely, Donna❤😮

They asked if I would touch him and I did. He was really cold and hard. I went outside and waited for the police by the direction of my supervisor. Now my sister has lost both her only children. The hardest is finding things they left behind. God bless everyone and everything!

Its a pity that this clip uses Sinead against Prince even in death, when she respected Prince for his talent and later understood how both of them had been "set up and betrayed " by the same ex manager. Sinead is often treated as a 1 hit wonder when her Lion and the Cobra album in 1987 was grammy nominated( pre any Prince cover) and she courageously performed her hit single from that album Mandinka - google it, a tiny shy fiercly truthful and authentic Woman. God rest you Sinead.

Prince did not give her permission to record his song. At that time warner own that song. Prince later on purchase his masters back from warner. Prince did not need her. She was a one hit wonder

I remember as a pre-teen I would just stare at every inch of her face trying to figure out how someone could possibly be so effortlessly gorgeous. No hair in the way, no makeup, always in a simple outfit…and she let her voice do all the work. I remember her interview on Arsenio Hall, how humble she was on the topic of dating. I don’t think she was aware of how attractive she was. The grandest thing was doing the right thing came before celebrity to her.

There is love and there is a cry for love. She found it difficult to deal with the problems with the world around her, without having to go very far. She made her music with power and did something for all of us as best as she could. She heard the cry and answered with love. Dear Jesus, hold her and her son. Never let go.

As a Gen X, I was in the Air Force in CA.. There was an alternative club called The Metro. On Tuesday nights my friends and myself couldn't wait for Tuesday night to go dancing till 2am. Metro always played Put your hands on me by Sinead. Her song Troy was my theme song to get me thru though times. Of all of her songs that haunted me and I would listen to over and over was Just like you said it would be. Lion and Cobra will always be my favorite album. Gen X lost a warrior and this hits hard.

In 1993 while preforming a song right in front of these candle, Sinead O'Connor tear the picture of that Vatican leader and a man from that house cause of the things she said. But it wasn't long before she did a remake of Prince's hit song. Her appearance on SNL is a sad reminder why she was not given as a musical guest. Tonight since her son's death in 2013 and about her mental illness, the grief at SNL is so undeniable and painless. SNL will honor the girl since the a 1993 performance unseen. Our heart are broken at home and the cast and crew's hearts are awfully heavy here at NBC, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Myers and it only hurts David Letterman, Conan O'Brien and of course, Jay Leno. The Girl who gave us tune and freedom dying at just 56 and this is a sad time here as SNL Remembers her.
