Johnny Depp chats with ET about fan obsession with his private life and how he doesn’t like the ‘Hollywood scene.’ In this throwback interview from 1993 the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor also shares his love of smoking.

He is literally a gorgeous man. People talk about how “terrible” he looks now. The dude is almost 60, and lived an amazing and intense life. He looks natural. He’s not supposed to look like a young person forever either. I think it’s great that he just doesn’t give a fuck, and is letting himself age naturally. I think that looks more graceful than all those freaks who get all the work done, or keep dressing like they’re kids. Johnny is a man now. A man who’s lived it and done it.

His face seems so changed, when I caught a glimpse of him in a recent “trial” highlight video. His features seem compressed into a smaller area, in the center of his face, now.

@@u.synlig That's because he has gained weight. I've noticed that when he gains weight, it's mainly around his face, upper chest area, and his hands (for some reason?). Google photos of him from 2015/2016 (he had gained some weight during the marriage) and then photos of him from 2017-2020 (when he was slimmer). I think he's preparing for a role (King Louis XV) currently, maybe that would explain the weight gain.

Johnny would put himself in the shoe of the character and feel what they are going through and projects it. If that's the case then i don't think he's faking his emotions.

It's funny to me that there are a bunch of people dragging Johnny about the way he talked during the trial, but if you look at these old interviews, it becomes pretty apparent that it's literally the same. That is just how he articulates and conveys his thoughts and feelings.

Maybe has a hard time reliving all the details of his childhood and all he went through with Miss Heard just brought it all rushing back and he is just hesitant to talk about it and he is trying to be truthful so he has a hard time believing that all that garbage went on in his life. He married his mother you would be surprised how much that happens. My father was abusive and I married my father and I know exactly how he feels

Not everybody with a substance abuse problem is abusive. I think anybody can say that they don’t act the same as another friend when their drunk, high, etc.

The first time i saw Amber attitude was off was when i saw in TV Mr Depp pranked her having her car got stolen (the car was Depp gift to her anyway) and she turned negative, like, genuinely negative attitude with bad words. From there i knew Amber is not a good woman, and i could tell Depp will be in trouble if he stayed. And now we know.

This VERY old interview. He acts the same today, soft spoken, self deprecating, funny, jokes the same way, not a glory hound. I had no idea about the smoking though! Today his voice is so unique and compelling, but it’s probably from all the smoking damage to his throat? ☹️ But I love that soft sultry rumble in his vocal fry. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know him personally.. obviously! But even then I knew he was innocent and it can’t be true. You can just tell good people by like knowing and what we’ve seen. We don’t see everything duh. But just he seems like such a kind soul. And I’m glad the Trial and all is public and is happening. He deserves his peace and to live a good life. Wether he retires or continues his career. I’m either way here till the day Johnny is flying high with the angels. Love him and can’t wait till this court situation is over and he’s finally truly free. He’s so funny without even trying lol.
