Oh man that's why I came here, I hoped they'd mentioned him. Andy Hallett is the the most amazing showman, hilarious soul, I know he's kicking people's asses making them laugh so hard somewhere in afterlife. Anyone who reads this, please look up "Andy Hallett at Slayerfest July 2nd 2005". He tells some stories from his life, sings a little bit in the start, just has a wonderful time it seems forgetting to answer questions and going off on tangential stories. You'll love it. Love to all.

The most tragic character in either show. Rejected by 2 slayers. Rejected by the Scoobies. Rejected by the Watchers Council. Rejected by his father. Loses his crew. Doesn’t get the girl and when he finally does, she dies. Then loses his life. Loved those moments when we got to glimpse the original Wesley like in “Spin the Bottle.” An English accent so perfect, my English friend was completely fooled. A beautifully developed character!

Andy Hallett was such a darling man. I went to a con where the organizers were just shamelessly milking the convention goers as hard as they could, selling more tickets for more signings with the castmember guests. I overheard Andy's manager saying something to him like 'you don't HAVE to stay' and he said "they came all this way to see me and get to speak to me and get my autograph, so I'll stay as long as it takes." I didn't stop him to tell him I'd overheard (because I didn't wanna out myself as a big ol' eavesdropper) when I saw him in the lobby later that day, but I just gave him a big smile as I was on my way out. He was a really nice guy.

Angel was everything to me when I was a teenager. I had depression for a number of years and I lost myself in its universe. It was my greatest passion and the best distraction from a life I barely wanted. I'm in the middle of rewatching all of Buffy and Angel for the first time in a decade. When I listened to the Angel theme song I just broke down. So much of my past is wrapped up in this show and I forgot just how much it meant. As far as I'm concerned it was the Wesley Show. His character arc was long, wide, and deep. His death was a mistake, in my opinion, he was more intelligent, insightful than the others; the whole thing pivoted on his character. He also had one of the most intriguing relationships on TV; not just the one with Lilah (in itself worth the price of the boxed set) but also Illyria, who was actually a male demon, who fell in love with Wesley, lol.

And the way Joss treated her was honestly horrible. He was so lucky to have made all his shows before social media became what it is now, or he'd never have had the chance to direct any Avengers movies or become the multi-millionaire he is now. He'd've been cancelled way back when Buffy was on the air, and none of his other shows would have been made. It's very telling that he did not show up for this reunion. I bet anything that multiple cast members said they wouldn't go if he was involved. They all know the truth about how he treated actresses on his sets. His wife exposed him, Charisma exposed him, Michelle exposed him. And where is he now? He hasn't made a single public appearance or even released a statement since all this became public. No defense, and no apology. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if his career is completely over at this point!

I love that Cordy only had scenes with Angel, and Wes in her last episode as a call back to simpler times. But yeah season 5 just looked like a bad reinvention to a once good show. Pablo81 Completely agree. I mean I like Spike and all, but to bring him in just to replace Cordy was just a waste of his character. They literally did nothing with him. Also ruined his big sacrifice in Buffy. I liked Fred, she was sweet. But really underdeveloped and was practically someone’s love interest the entirety of her arc. I never liked Gunn. He just brought way to much testosterone to the team, and just really complained half the time, also tried to hard to be Alpha. Angel, Cordy, and Wes all had history together which made them click so well. I cherish season 1 and half of 2 because their dynamic is just so amazing. Once the group expands they just had less and less scenes together, as the trio that started it all.

Btvs always tried to show that Angel and Cordelia are terrible together and them even being friends meant that he was cheating on Buffy. But actually they have more natural chemistry than Bangel (excluding some of the romance stuff of course as we never got to see if Cangel could truly work). Around Cordelia Angel was able to be himself, sing, laugh, dance, whilst around Buffy he always reverted to the jealous brooding stereotype he originally was, all the way up to their last on-screen interaction. Wesley was also introduced to be the 'replacement Giles' who didn't have the life experience of Ripper, so he was always going to be annoying. Allowing the three most stereotyped characters from Buffy S1-3 have their own show and develop into proper characters will always be - as you put it - unexpected and brilliant!!

@@Ana-yc5ox I do agree with you on the level of chemistry between C&A, versus B&A , but we all know that chemistry between 2 people in love and 2 people whom are friends are always going to be on a totally different level anyway. Now as for not being able to see any real romance between A&C that would most likely never have happened anyway because Angel still carries the curse to never ever be able to have true love or happiness, hence the reason why him and Buffy couldn’t be together. In my opinion C&A would have been a really weird and awkward relationship anyway because if you remember she did indeed sleep with his son, while he was there to witness it happening. This also goes the same for B&S, their relationship was more of lust than anything else, they had no real romance, nor did B ever love S and deep down inside he knew it. B will always be A one and only true love, vice versus. The producers always manage to keep the drama going between B&A with having them appear on both shows. A is always there for B when he knows she is hurting and or needs help even though it hurts him just being near her. I’m not saying C wasn’t good for A because she obviously was, but it was more of on a best friend level and not on a romantic level, again like it is with B&A. A will always choose B! Not only that, but Wesley became my favorite character on "Angel." You guys are 100% right and I've been saying this same thing for years. Angel was lightyears beyond Buffy due to the greater complexity of its storylines, its morally grey characters, and it's unflinching adult themes. Buffy was great, but at the end of the day it was a show about growing up and dealing with high school. Its post high school seasons are a lot sharper and stronger, but Angel hit the ground running and accomplished a lot more in 5 seasons than Buffy did in 7. That said, the Buffy comics for Season 8 and beyond were a lot better than the Angel: After the Fall ones.

That's because Angel did what no other series before it ever tried to do, it had one long overreaching plot that lasted 5 seasons. They had one strong antagonist being Wolfram and Heart throughout the entire series and they pulled it off brilliantly in my opinion, though the last episode was a bit rushed in all honesty. Oh man I had (and still have) the biggest crush on Charisthma and thought her character grew so much by the end, it's a shame how they did her dirty like that. She deserved so much more respect than she got, she's such a sweet and beautiful person from all the things I've heard about her. I was really sad to see her off the show without giving her a proper send-off. They even killed Fred but she still got her send-off and Amy still got to stick around. Cordillia gets one episode where she doesn't even do anything but tag along really, all for the point of getting that kiss with Angel in the end. It turned out important to the plot in the end but still she deserved more than that. She was more than just a useless side kick, she was one of if not the most powerful characters in the entire series, but that's all they gave her for her last episode. What a waste!

Indeed, just like Buffy. Though Buffy might have had some Slumps. But all in all both shows genious I think was the growth given to all of its characters that made the story so very interesting seasons after season. Unlike shows like HIMYM, which still great had much slower process of change If any.

@@NewLegendXxX for someone that followed the comics im surprised you didn't read up on why the show ended like that. It was an impromptu ending when the show was abruptly canceled. If you read up its pretty interesting, in a nutshell they wanted the next season bought ahead of time and got into a heated battle with wb, gave an ultimatum, and ultimately screwed themselves into being canceled. This resulted in having to rewrite the last seasons ending episodes to close things up.

@@vaughnordakowski8774 yeah I heard that and I read the Angel comics. I didn't read all of the Buffy ones but I was curious so I read the very last comic of Buffy. And I was rooting for Angel all along especially since the hints were all there but no, I guess that's what made me really dislike joss

The BEST moments in 'Angel': The riff between Angel & Wesley, after Wesley took Angel's son, was some *good* acting... When Angel tricked his team into thinking he had gone 'bad' so he can keep an eye on Darla... Darla sacrificing herself to give birth to her son... Watching Cordelia & Wesley 'grow' into different & stronger people... Watching Cordelia say goodbye to Angel for the last time.... Seeing Winifred say goodbye to 'her boys' as she died, then resurrect as Illyria [she played that role!] ...and there are other moments but I can't remember.
