As an ENFP, something i often think is: what will people think about what I say, will they say im right? Will they disagree? This is how i narrow logic down often. This means its internally formulated, but I’m forming it off my ideas of other people’s logic. Te is fun 🤩

@@PsychologyandChillwMichi Alright, here's how I experience Ti: The mother is Logic. Logic has given birth to twin sons, named Te and Ti. Ti organises everything he finds. Every newspaper, magazine, recipe book, textbook, manual and every piece of mail that has ever arrived at the house - every bit of information has been organised and categorised by Ti. It's his reason for being. Since the house is an ENTP, Ti's father is Ne. Every day his father goes out and collects... everything. Flyers, gum wrappers, abandoned shoes, unicorn hairs, spring water. When he gets home he dumps it all on the table and Ti does what he's built for. His sister Fe is really good at taking what he's organised and handing it out to people. But since he's bigger, he's in charge (Mom said so), so if the crowd gets irritating, Ti WILL yell facts at them with no regard for whether they like it, while Fe shrugs and goes, "Welp, you asked for it." Their baby brother is Si. His deep memory is frighteningly acute. Whatever Ti organises, he knows exactly where it is and when to retrieve it. He and his big brother make a formidable pair, and often enter debate tournaments together. Fe participates if it's a friendly match; if it's business, she's not interested. (Si can never remind anyone in the house to be on time for stuff tho, because, well, he's a baby.) If Fe hangs out with Si, she gets super nostalgic and wants to read all the old crap that he finds in the basement. But that's best done in small doses, because if she hangs out with him too much, the past becomes a burden and then Ti hates her and the whole family has to go for counselling. I mentioned that Ti and Te are twins. Why doesn't Te live with them? They were separated at birth. No-one knows where Te is now or what he's doing.

That statement helps me more than the examples. How people feel sometimes is irrelevant, feelings can muddy the waters, actually feelings can be the problem hiding the solution to the problem ABOUT feelings. When you are emotional about something you can't make rational decisions. So I would look at feelings logically as part of the problem.
@AutoAlchemy
@AutoAlchemy 3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I think the trick is to get into the headspace where you separate from the feelings without repressing them. Then they just become information, valuable for whatever they're signaling. (E.g. turns out I have a boundary here or a need that is unexpressed.) Then the thinking function can be harnessed to address the root.

I cant tell if im unconsciously faking being ENTP or if i've always been like this- i have a lot of the traits but i've been sticking to the stereotypes and denying my authenticity after reading about them and now im just confused. overthinking? let me just describe myself as easily as i can x.x I do love debating a lot and i get annoyed asf when my friends just agree with me to end the argument or just invalidate my arguments with no logical reason Im not very in-tune with myself [thats quite obvious considering i cant tell if im faking or not-] i think i can read people but not to an excellent extent, i often say very hurtful things on impulse and i regret/dont based on the reaction [like speak on controversial topics like racism] I do get hurt when i feel rejected from a certain social setting but i dont show it and i either distance myself or go back to acting completely normal [if i no longer feel rejected i dont hold any grudges but i will distance myself if i continue to feel rejected] to be honest ive always procrastinated a lot but i manage to get it done, ive put off studying cuz ive believed pretty deeply in my 'brightness' [it did work out for me most of the times] i dont know if theres anything left to say? i do have pretty low self esteem in general and i do get offended when people doubt my capabilities or criticise me but thats also depending on the person i am usually pretty extroverted in a comfortable atmosphere and i love making people laugh except if im near peers who are closer to eachother than me id either become the 'entertainer' or i would distance myself

Hard to tell just from reading what you've written here, because I think a lot of these could go both ways. Some ENFPs, for example, have really activated Te, and they can love debating just as much as your stereotypical ENTP. It does sound like you're on the right track, though. Right, it's worth learning, but there are some barriers to entry. I think the best thing you could is self-direct your learning when it comes to OP. What if I would say I have to honor what is the right thing to do, but only if it’s necessary? I’ve been professionally typed ENFP,INFP, INTP and ISTJ. Part of the question may be how do I decide what is right, I’d say I have a gut emotional response and then dig it apart to confirm that it makes sense to me. What makes sense will land on how others are affected. Game on if I’m the only one affected.

The problem I have with the whole jumper thing, is that for me and others I have observed, the prioritization of the middle functions is not static. People are way more complex and people sometimes prioritize their second and sometimes prioritize the third function, depending on the situation. Or sometimes depending on how much they trust someone, or they could be on an stage where they prioritize the third function right now, and one year later they go back to prioritizing the second one. Overly categorizing the way Op tries to do, makes things to rigid and do not leave a lot of room for nuance, that I have observed real humans have. The same goes for the whole animals system, people change, and through maturity they learn to balance functions and animals. For example, my ESFP brother, he used to be pure Se Fi, with masculine Fi (very masculine) when he was younger, and he had blast last or third.... Now, he is nothing but Se Te, and Fi rarely shows up, his Te seems pretty masculine now, and now he is full blast. Basically the functions are the same, but the whole way he uses them changed so drastically he seems like a completely different person now. And that is not rare, I have changed so much from who i was, when I was younger I was mostly a TI machine and now I use Fe more with people than Ti. Overly categorizing, might seem it might seem to make things more accurate at first look, but in reality it can kill nuance because it leaves no room for change. Also so many people I know, specially when mature, have both of their middle functions fairly balanced.
@AutoAlchemy
@AutoAlchemy 3 жыл бұрын
I think those are really great points. I think that if Dave and Shan did a better job of positioning the system within a conventional Jungian frame of personality lifespan development, this would not be such a problem. For example, you mention balance and maturity, and the way I interpret OP it is explicitly about imbalance. It is a catalogue of the various ways in which people can get imbalanced while on autopilot. But as we age, we learn to differentiate the ego (as a neutral commander) from the ego-identified complexes of our savior functions, and we open ourselves up to the full arsenal of psychological perspectives. Thanks for sharing!

Also I love the yinyang image with the hand! 🤗😍 oh one more thing...the simple concept of "it's subjective because the user is the subject" is soooo on point!! It might seem like a Duh kind of statement but too often "objective" is synonymous with "true", and subjective is seen as somehow unable to transfer to other things, people, or truth...but that's just not accurate.
