that’s exactly how i’m starting this career, a company gave me a shot at being an apprentice, they seem to have good mechanics that can teach me well, there’s also night classes they offer im almost certain

Great advice for sure, hope the young guys are listening, wish I was younger, would have been a good trade/job for me... And, you are soooo right, the money isn't everything. You are much better off at a lower paying job that is willing to train and treat you well. The money will come eventually. Unfortunately, when we are young, we think we have all the answers, but don't.. "The curse of youth" I call it. Knowledge and wisdom come with years and experience.

I currently work as an electrical design engineer in the transportation industry. An assignment I had some time ago was to create a test fixture that verified whether one of my company's newly manufactured relay assemblies were built and operated correctly before it left our plant. The assemblies contain among others things timers, mechanically latching relays, multiple pole relays, solenoids for pneumatic systems, and limit switches. The relays handle multiple voltages (36 volts, 74 volts, as wells as standard 120 volt mains voltage) and the panels they mount on look to the untrained eye like a spaghetti monster of wires. From your perspective, would you consider that assignment I had industrial or just engineering work? Would you consider industrial a trade (like residential or commercial) or more along the lines of an engineering position? I have a sense the lines are blurred.
