This video was incredible and super helpful. I noticed all your shapes had a certain symmetry and I'm interested in making a shape thats a flat rectangle with the bottom line arced upward. This makes it so the bottom line of the shape is longer than the top length, and im getting weird warping in my text. Pinching in the corners and spreading in the center. I just want parallel letters but in this rectangle with a bottom arc shape. Do you have any tips?

use mesh distortion or you have multiple warp presets in the envolope distort section

youre the one, lol. I blame my ADHD but I can only learn well from certain types of people and everything you do caters to my mind from the highlighted cursor to the tone and pace of your verbal instruction to the on screen display of commands and shortcuts and REPETITIVE verbal reminders of the shortcut commands. In short, I didnt pass out here, I had about 5 naps in the previous couple hours before coming across this video. please remake ALL Adobe tutorials lmao.

Hi Mathews That's a very helpful video for me as a beginner. I am using CS6, so I found the command key is some different than you. the fish part when I selected the 2 anchors, clicked and drag it down over the center point. hehe it was not like yours. it can be only one point at a time. so I ended up using the anchor point to smooth instead. Anyway, it looks like the same fish but after connecting, the fish text to the body part, the text is not well aligned, so I fix it with the pen tool. Thanks again

when I use envelope distort with top object, it comes out how it did after you manipulated the word cube at the 12:00 mark. I have spent the last hour trying to figure out why and have had no luck. I reset my settings and tried everything on reddit but still with the same results. The text looks like warped but not to the shape of the top object, it's like it warped and then warped again. Thanks for sharing!

If I'm reading your question properly, be sure your shape is the top object. "Right Click-Arrange-Bring to Front."

I cant envelope distort the two objects. It says that "This requires a selection of multiple objects. The top object must be a single path or mesh, or a symbol containing a single path or mesh." Can anybody help?
