Laura and Tracy discuss Luke and who's the better woman for him. After Laura leaves, Tracy breaks down and cries.
Lulu visits Tracy and tries to tell her to get out before she gets hurt.

Both Genie Francis and Jane Elliot are great actors. That was an amazing scene.... maybe my favorite of Genie's 2008 return. So much more powerful than all the exposions, gun shooting, mob struggles.....

Laura is so classy here. Tracy is attacking Laura's life with Luke, but Laura doesn't attack Tracy. The self-confidence that Laura shows when she says, quite honestly, that Tracy shouldn't kid herself, that she knows that Luke loves HER ... and always will. Tracy DID know that -- that's why she's crying at the end of the scene. She knew Laura was right .... Laura also knew how to be the one to walk away with her head held high. It was Luke who asks if she's coming back. He wants her to.

as much as I like Tracy, the last few months since Luke's downward Spiral came along with Tracy's help so to speak. Laura kept him human, whereas Tracy allowed for Luke's addiction to take hold and then left him to drown in his own despair. If they ever bring Laura back, She'll be the Hero because She'll be able to do for him what Tracy couldn't....Laura would be able to give Luke his heart back.

No one makes someone an addict Luke always had demons and she didn't enable him she reminded him he had kids and responsibilities but Luke was always kind of restless and selfish even with Laura. The way he treated Nikolas, Partnering with Sonny despite Laura wanting to have a normal life after years of on the run from Frank. What I hated about Luke and Laura was the way he'd punish her when he didn't get what he wanted from her with Tracey he can try but she's going to make him pay.

Luke died inside when Laura became ill. you can tell he did . he was never the same . but I guess he had to change, because GF was gone. so he had to find another woman. TG and GF were the best. they brought out the best of each other. JE and TG had a different type of relationship. so there chemistry was different. but I will always like the TG with GF!

Laura owned that moment. The mic drop moment: Laura telling Tracy, "Luke DOES love me ... and he always will." She exited that living room like the queen she is, and Tracy knew it. That's why Tracy was crying. Laura was stating facts.

@@alexjohnson9630Fact is Genie Francis, as much as I love her, is NOT the same calibur of actor as (A) Tony Geary or a Jane Elliott. It feels like, even now, that whenever Laura is in a scene with someone, ANYONE, the person she is in the scene WITH, is ALWAYS "in the spotlight" over shining her. That's BECAUSE of Genie's lackluster, emotional less acting. Tony Geary portrayed Luke Spencer with an almost firey flame. Tony OWNED ALL the scenes he had WITH Genie. Tony's Luke was a full on white hot fire, while Genie's portrayal of Laura was simply an ember. Tony Geary NEVER stole a scene from Jane Elliott. Luke NEVER outshined Tracy, BECAUSE Tracy was JUST AS firey as Luke. Jane Elliott and Tony Geary were equals in acting and they played off each other magnificently. Also, I might add, there was a point where it SEEMED like Genie was consciousness choosing to not be "on the show" at the same time Tony was on the show. My feeling is telling me it was BECAUSE Tony was rumored to be homosexual. And I am thinking she didn't want to act opposite a gay man. I think what has happened since Tony Geary retired from General Hospital PROVES my theory. Especially, considering, Genie has been a consistent permanent, "fixture" on General Hospital SINCE Tony left. BEFORE Tony retired from General Hospital, Genie was "consistently" IN and OUT on the soap. Suspiciously, for the years SINCE Tony left, Genie is,AGAIN I say, a permanent fixture. 🤨🤔

@@oland637 Actually you must not have seen any of TG's interviews post-retirement. He has apologized to Genie Francis for preventing her from getting a full-time contract from GH. He said he knew he did her wrong. He wanted the LnL story over and he knew if she was on full-time the fans would insist they be together. As far as Genie's acting ability I disagree with you completely. TG is the one who can't seem to create romantic chemistry with anyone but GF. Genie on the other hand has created amazing chemistry with so many actors. Stephen Nichols, Drake Hogestyn, Peter Bergman, all her love interest on Bare Essence, Ted McGinley from her 3 Note movies, and Parker Stephenson.

The only thing rammed down our throats was the writers storyline with Tracy and Luke. Tracy was threatened which is why she lashed out so much and it’s clear by her breakdown when Laura walked away. I really do like Tracy a lot but she was projecting onto Laura.

A sidenote... I love how later on Tracy became a surrogate mother to Lulu ((even going toe-to-toe with Carly when Carly blamed Lulu from Michael going to prison) And in the end.. Tracy was right and Luke ended up with her.

The writer’s never seem to knew what to do with a Luke without his Laura. The character remained a shell without her. I’m hoping that Tony will come back and revive the character and we get two equal partners in Luke and Laura. The show needs them!!

I would LOVE to see them recast Luke!!! I enjoyed Anthony Geary as a actor, he was/is super talented. BUT he said himself "I'M DONE!!!!" He has also said that he doesn't watch the show, has no interest whatsoever in what they do on it! He would not be insulted. It could be a way to tie up loose ends, and maybe get that "happy ending!" Tony did a fine job, but now it's the CHARACTER I love!

Don't count on Luke coming back. Tony's 76 now and loving his life in Amsterdam. He's had back problems too, and flying back and forth between Europe and California could really do a number on his spine. Plus, even before he left he was vetoing any and all attempts to revive L&L. That's why Luke and Tracy hooked up; Tony knew he'd have a lot more fun working with Jane. Genie may be beloved, but she's also something of a prima donna. Jane's a professional through and through, and doesn't mind her character being goofy or looking ridiculous/

Well put! Luke was dominated by his demons, and couldn't be the swashbuckler he was in the 80s. Yes, maybe Tracy saved his life when she convinced him to have heart surgery, then went right back to berating him and b***hing at him. Those two are a train wreck as a couple!

Luke, or was it TG, said that he learned to lie at a young age. He has said that GF is his acting soul mate. He has said that he can't be Luke without Laura. Is he lying when he says those things about GF or is he lying when he says those things about JE? How can one tell? He has said that he doesn't want to be making goo goo eyes at Laura at 67 years old(or however old he is) as if that would be hard to make believable. I find it much harder to believe that he is a rough sex, spanky type old man. Goo goo eyes aren't nearly as pukey imo. And as for "Luke can be himself". How does Tracey know who "himself" is? He is letting her see who he wants her to believe he is. Tracey tells herself what she wants to believe. Just like she did with Mitch.

As an actress, je is superb. She's the female villain you love to hate. And, of course, TG is phenomenal. I hear they're best friends in real life. But, on camera, there is zero chemistry, all they do is quarrel, and I just can't see Luke becoming a part of the Quartermaine clan! It's all wrong!

You have two women who love the same man but he is the same man but each woman brings out another side of him. Tracy loves him for the hot mess that he is and she is not judgemental of him. It is a more adult love of a man in a different phase of his life. Tracy knows him for what he is and Laura for what he has and wanted to be. You will always love your first love. Laura has wisdom in knowing Luke would always be torn between the two because he is selfish and self centered.

Yes, they completed added that part in. I remember the early Luke. He wanted to be like the good society. To finally make it. He wanted Laura and he wanted family like everybody else. He ran off more times being married to Tracy. He stayed with Laura and tried to protect her always. They changed Luke into something completely different.

Please bring back Genie Francis. Luke and Tracy have zero chemistry. Tracy knows Luke will forever love LAura. He may care for Tracy since Laura is out of his life. But remember that is exactly what Tony Geary wanted. He would rather be remembered as an ass, than part of the supercouple LnL. Gh producers and writers should have never given him so much control of the show. He didn't want Genie on the show cause then the fans would have insisted Luke get back with Laura. He was allowed to tank GH's ratings for his own selfish reasons. We are just lucky that GH has survived the Tony Geary reign of Terror. Right now only 3 soaps exist on TV and GH is coming in 3rd in ratings. I just hope ABC and Disney keep it going.

Tracy is an enabler to Luke's drinking problem. Period. He claims he loves Tracy because she let's him to continue to drink and she cleans up his mess, tries to fix him and picks up the pieces. Tracy is trying to play Luke's Savior based on her comment. Laura personality at this point, for she is showing maturity, would have never allowed the relationship continued if she knew how Luke was with Tracy. She would have to leave him eventually and let him fall rock bottom if necessary so he clean up his act. It is called tough love. I love Luke and Laura, but in real life, Laura would have walked and told him to clean up his act. Only Luke can change Luke. This is how I see the relationship between Tracy and Luke.

I like the fact that Laura is not am imbecile and does not back down. She does care for Luke. As they are soul mates yes but that does not mean they are good for each other for their lives as husband and wife. Tracy makes a valid point. Tracy provides LUke with something he desperately needs - CLarity!!!!!!!!!!! Laura does recognize that Tracy does love Luke and she is really happy that Tracy will fight for him.

Laura started to fight for Luke in this video ,she was so good,She is a Lady and she held her composure when she could have screamed and ranted. Laura and Luke will always love each other. She is "His Angel". Hopefully the writers will see that and bring them together. Tracy does not deserve Luke.Laura should return to Luke and her children soon.

Two of my absolute favorite actresses: Jane Elliott and Genie Francis!! They are so talented and I loved seeing them argue. They both had really good points. And I adore Tracy's tearing up after Laura left the room. The dialogue between Tracy and Lulu was also very touching. Both Jane and Genie deserved their Emmys! :-)

Yeah I find it very funny that when Luke was in his 20's and chasing Laura, Tracy had already been married 4 or 5 times and was married to Senator Mitch Williams during the whole mob storyline.

Nah, Jane's only five months older than Tony. By contrast, Genie's 15 years younger. Laura was only 18 when she first ran off with Luke; he was quite a bit older.

Tracy is telling the truth. People don't realize that. They don't have much in common now. Listen i am a big Luke And Laura fan. But people grow. When Laura started having children she couldn't go on those big adventures with Luke anymore. Luke has always been a free spirit. Always looking for the next big adventure. Those were some wonderful times. The back and forth with Helena Cassidine. It would give him a rush. Laura have know desire to go one the big adventures know more. She evolved. They will Always love each other. Even they said things had changed. When they went to go rescue lulu. They 💋 kissed and they both realize that things had change. We want them to be the same. But people grow and evolve. Luke is not the same Luke from back in the 80s neither is Laura. Time brings on changes.. We as fans need to understand that. We will Always have the memories of those Wonderful times. Nothing can take that away from us. I know i have changed. I was a senior in high school. I am 57 years old now. Thats what tracy is talking About. And Laura even realize what tracy was saying. Great Memories of a time gone bye. Oh it was a Wonderful time. And as a Big Fan of Luke And Laura thank you for Such Beautiful Wonderful Memories. I will treasure them Always.

Ironically, the one who really wanted out of L&L was TG. He grew tired of the role, and didn't want to ride off in the sunset with Laura. He was very influential, and had script control. His hand may have been the one to pull the plug on L&L.

Yes, I think Luke and Tracy are much better matched, and a whole lot more fun, than L&L. Laura's goofy decisions got WAY on my nerves (the cigar band, Ms. Star Eyes, keeping Nik a secret, etc.) ALSO, I very much appreciate Luke not going the Sonny route and hooking up with Emily or some unthinkably young cookie.

I will forever hope that Luke and Laura will reunite. I only wish Genie Francis would return to GH but the writers seem to want to ruin GH--The ratings are down over 200 thousand since this scene aired last November. Get a clue GH!!

Well Tracy did have a point about Laura being more family-oriented and Luke feeling the need to disappear & get away from PC more often. I think Luke even said that himself & so did Laura. That being said I still think LnL will b4ever but it's an interesting take to have Tracy in the picture. I think Laura was gracious in her descriptions & wanting to know Tracy's viewpoint. Years ago there would have been a screaming match....

Back again because YT said, "Hey, take a look at this again". LOL. The fun part about talking soaps and characters is we all have an opinion about the direction they should go. I have always been a Luke and Laura rides off into the sunset together person. I felt that they should buy the Whitaker's Farm and retire there. It's obvious based on the real lives of the actors that this is not going to happen. Sure, characters change and grow, but character integrity should remain. Those two sold us a bill of goods with their excellent acting and made us believe in the endless love of their characters. Unfortunately, we don't get to make the executive decisions and we got what we got, a great run with Luke and Laura, but an ineffective resolution. Ahhh, soaps!

I thought the comment on this page of Laura's character slapping Tracy's character was a little funny, but, really her character only slaps Luke's character when he is out of line. To slap Tracy would be to make Laura a little bit low class. Save the slaps for Luke when he needs them! Maybe make that a new soap opera term "selective slapping". LOL

I loved the adult conversation Tracy has with LULU. Tracy has turned out to be a good parent to LULU and their relationship is mature and wonderful. Laura should be thankful for that.

I understand how long the L &L phenomenon's been around, cause I watched it from the beginning.But times change, and they parted mutually. But, to move on to Tracy!?! Lots of humorous bickering, but it seems that's all they do.

I think she will come back , for sure. They have kept the doors open this time . The reason why she went to france is not very clear to me, maybe it was tracy's wicked plan and when luke will know about it then he might have different sort of feelings for her. By then laura would be back and with a new love interest either in making or would already be established by that time. He would have to fight for her the way he is in late 70's and early 80's. We would be in for a great show. THE REAL GH.

We'll see, indeed. Six years on, Luke is with Tracy, who he admitted is his soulmate. The present doesn't invalidate the past, but Tracy's the best match for him, now. I liked that she let Lulu express her thoughts, and was mature enough to let it rest. And I hate to see Tracy cry. She deserves better, and so did Laura.

Tracy is right - Luke and Laura have been rammed down our throats, and it is puke worthy. People change, characters leave, writers work their magic. It's time for some people to get with the times, history is history for a reason. Seeing them together on the day before 52nd anniversary episode shows why Tracy is Luke's best mate, and vice versa.

MamaRemos Oh please Luke was a badass and a an amazing character when he was with Laura back in the 80s and 90s. They were extraordinary. All he is with Tracy is a pathetic drunk. he's no where near the amazing character he was back then. And if Laura was back and had to fight for Luke it wouldn't be a contest at all. And you are right Luke has changed and he's changed for the worst!!! "Luke and Laura have been rammed down our throats" - But it's exactly that ramming that saved General Hospital from cancellation back in the early 80's if I'm not mistaken. Whatever dysfunctional insanity and joke of a marriage that Luke has with Tracy will never compare to the greatest love story ever told on GH which was Luke and Laura.

Luke with Tracy was cringeworthy- embarrassing-awful over the top screaming at each other-actually a good example of why the viewship has tanked for this soap in particular. A great love story: Luke and Laura and then there's Luke and Tracy : an abomination. Oh yeah, imho.

Gee I guess we're all wrong huh? That would explain why they ONLY have decent ratings when Luke n Laura are on the show together. I don't know anyone who has watched the show in years unless L&L are on.

Personally I love Tracy with Luke. He and she seem like kindred spirits a lot more than Luke ever did with Laura. Tracy never needed saving the way that Laura did a lot of times. Also as Tracy points out Laura wanted the home and the family whereas Luke wanted the travel and the adventures. Tracy is more Luke's speed.
