Ngl, Envy is my first childhood crush. I cried when he died in this series which lead to my brother teasing me to no end, crying over a cartoon character 😭

One of the better things about brotherhood series is that it had decent closure even though Envy and Lust got killed by Mustang it’s better he did it than anyone else Mustang got to avenge Hugh’s death

Only 30 seconds in and I'm laughing (which is nothing short of uncommon). Envy really is what would be called a cute monster, with the voice to match :) Lust's voice is... hypnotic🌙

One of my favorite homonculi and character overall ! I just think they are amazing in every version of FMA, especially in the 2003 anime when he (because in this version, Envy is a boy and not genderless) is one of the most powerful homonculi and he has an AMAZING plot twist (those who watched this version know that I’m talking about) ! Thank you so much for the scene pack btw, you’re doing a lot of effort by creating those :)

In 2003 he's a male but in the 2004 fma character profiles book she/her is used on him which I think is pretty neat I interchangeably switch from using she and him on Envy lol but 2003 Envy was definitely perfectly done

Hi this is me ranting abt envy. Envy constantly mocks humans for having emotions, feelings and ambitions, but ironically enough, they couldn't fight mustang exactly because of this. Envy had a good advantage over Mustang, not because of their bigass form, but rather because they could've shapeshifted into smth that could blind or wet Roy. They didn't, though, because they were too focused on torturing him psychologically, manipulating him. They "couldn't do the logical thing" because "they were blinded by their emotions". Alongside WHY Envy thought it was a good idea to give Mustang a bigger target, they associate size with power. The taller and larger you are, the more powerful and the more you impose, in Envys eyes. Why do they think that? Because you surely cannot forget/ignore a bigass dog-serpent-like lizard thing with thousands of Xerxians' souls accumulated. I believe that, in a way, Envy, also wants to be seen and not interpreted as weak or useless, the perfect contrats for their true form: a tiny little guy

In the 2003 anime, Envy is male, as shown by his true form. In the manga and Brotherhood, Envy (in the true monster and parasite form) is a genderless entity, whose preferred look is male. I guess you could use male pronouns or whatever...

He's purposely androgynous given how "pretty" and "handsome" he is. But generally always has been male between both versions.
