First off a giant, huge thanks to Mr Fish for being both the very first buyer of the Ammo Hub A1 *and* also the first end user to post about it anywhere online, certainly to do such a thorough break down on it. It is beyond appreciated sir! I'll do my best to answer the questions that arose on my product for everyone who views this: 1. 1" Hook strips on the back - on the rear face of the Hub there are 2 columns of what is technically PALS, they're on the outboard edges of the back. It's cheaper to sew on the rows than laser cut some holes in the ends of a big 5" piece of hook which helps keep the end price down. 2. Length of onewrap - There are a couple of weird PCs out there which can actually need that much height adjustment. Primarily however I wanted multiple Hubs to be stackable on each other if so desired (part of the goal of maximum modularity) and the vertical onewrap is basically the 'pouch PALS/MOLLE straps' to achieve that. Once you've woven it between two Hubs there's a good tail left inside the front one to lock everything in super solid. 3. Price - unfortunately I'd take a serious loss selling at $50 haha. It was around $65 at the time the one shown here was ordered and that's on sale, standard retail is around $73 largely due to the inclusion of the Tubes. Being a brand new business the logistics inbetween myself and the FS warehouse in Missouri for offering the Tubes separate just isn't there yet, but some time in future I hope to make that an option. 4. Shingle type retention - The very top of the top row of PALS on the front will allow you to route any bungee cord for that extra retention which pairs with the row of laser cut slots at the very top on the back of the hub. It's kinda subtle but it's there. The slots also line up for 3xAR, 2x308 or however many PCC mags (but the VXV product is great too). Check @f9gear_ on IG to see this demonstrated; and to generally find out all the nuanced little things going on with the Hub and more ways to set it up. Believe me I apologise for being from somewhere that is technically Europe (though thankfully no longer the EU), it's not my choice rest assured!

For those worried about reindexing on the 308 shaw insert, it has tegris side support so it will mostly retain its size width wise

I think the Shaw Concepts is going to be my ticket for the 308 "battle rifle" kit.

I really appreciate the smaller channels such as yourself or blogs off the beaten path like The Full 9. It seems like you guys are the only ones still keeping it honest, and from different perspectives rather than just for the drip and the clout.

the reason for the Full9 having velcro strips on the back is there is a column of molle slits / 6/12 slits where the one wrap is so you can tuck it back into the placard, or you may even be able to molle the placard on in a pinch

I also ran the quad with esstac inserts. It functioned pretty well I made Little dividers with one wrap to make the side “rigid” enough to re-index the magazines

I have the Shaw placards and really like them. I prefer the smaller one over the new one that can run quad 556 mags. I actually modify most of my placards to run G hooks instead of the plastic ones. And I modify them to run tubes. So having the setup that can run the tubes out of the package is really nice. I’d be happy to modify some kit for you anytime btw. Let me know!

Wish all these single flap placards designs sized up to 3 308/4 M4 mags. Shaw winning for sure here imo. Looks like a perfect candidate for the URMI inserts sureshot USA is selling.

These are the 3 I've been looking at. Pulled the trigger on the Shaw only to find out it sold out in about 2 minutes and couldn't complete the purchase.

Can you even fit kydex inserts from. Esstac or haley? How about two, 2 MP2 inserts. (4 magazine)

The placard fad needs to go away.. all this is doing is stacking layers of fabrics over and over again making everything stick out much further then it needs to.. almost everything has almost the exact same setup anymore.. sewn in or “modular” they are all the fn same.. it’s better to get last decade setup with an internal pocket then add a BFG shingle on the outside so if you need more you have it.. But let’s be honest.. by the time to do nylon then add hook and look.. then another layer of nylon for a single row setup you’re at double row thickness for a single dedicated sewn in setup.. then add molle to that and you’re even thicker before you even add a simple thin admin or whatever else on top that is again 2 layers plus either molle or hook and loop.. this shit gets thick fast when you start stacking all these layers.. All we are going is ending up just as thick with half the capacity! It’s a huge sales gimmick Don’t take my word for it.. take your 10yo carrier that has the internal 3 mag pocket.. compare it to a simple 3 mag placard with either a molle or Velcro attachment.. I went down this road and did all this stupid stuff as well and then kept wondering why I was getting so heavy and so thick for going prone.. stick to the older setups with 3-4 mags internal and build out width wise and stop stacking just cause it’s sooo “modular” Shit I forgot we are doing inserts that’s another 2 layers of fabric and another two layers of hook and loop lol Seriously we are at 3/4” of just fabrics before even putting anything in these.. that’s an entire row of mags already

A placard without rigid mag inserts is not an option in this market. Hard pass.
