Hey Jay! Just wanted to say I loved seeing how well you did with my tut, you executed it perfectly and precisely to the point of the instructional. It’s intended to be used with other colors as well, so I’m really happy you gave it a shot with the blue. Contrast paints (or similar) are a perfect substitute for inks with this technique for those interested, I fully advocate for this. You absolutely nailed it, and this made my morning seeing you create something great with my tutorial- so rewarding. Cheers bro 🤘

One of the key tenants of grimdark is extremes of both contrast and colour saturation... people often forget that and just make stuff dirty. real nice work

Mixing inks and paints for black / white Just Works(tm). It's like adding thinner/medium but without the result diluting the paint.

I've almost finished an almost identical colour scheme on my squat kill team, super vivid blue, hazard stripes and reddish orange bases! Whilst looking for a vibrant colourscheme, did you come across "groundeffected", I think he found a great way to do his ultramarines, definitely worth checking out :)

My main bitch/gripe is that GW has made two factions of Space Cops (Adeptus Arbites in KT and Palanite Enforcers in Necromunda), and neither of them has a Psyker option...so I can't have Judge Cassandra Anderson in my team. "Welcome to the inside of your head. It's kind of empty in here."

Really good review of the Arbiters models and an interesting paint scheme that lifts them out of the standard black on black uniform. Having recently bought a box of the figures, my one real complaint is that despite the box art none of the figures appears to have an option of posing firing a pistol from the classic braced stance. Even the Palanites have at least one guy with a handgun actually shooting. I can understand the high proportion of heavy weapons provided, shotguns etc for a SWAT style boarding action but that does leave off options for deployment of Arbiters into a Necrmunda setting with a less intensive combat scenario. I am experimenting with borrowing spare handguns (revolver style from the Palanites, bolt pistols and even the heavy Leagues if Votann pistols) to see if I can add a couple of pistil toting Arbiters to the team. Guess that having these as official figures could lead to criticism that they are too much like Judge Dredd....

so I've seen people set pigment powders with a drop of white spirit, and it drys in a very interesting way that really seeks out the recesses and makes it look more corroded, though you would probably need to wipe of anything that wicked onto the feet so that they just looked dusty rather than like their boots were rusty.
