Don't worry about going the wrong way. I've always said that if everything went according to plan and everything was perfect, you wouldn't remember it as well. I turned 40 this year and have been planning a solo ride to Alaska, but since the Canadian border has been closed, my plan B was to ride from Northern Cali to New England, down the Atlantic Coast, and then ride the TAT back. I plan to leave in two weeks, so this episode just gave me some insight into the beginning of my solo journey…don’t go wrong way in the TAT at the beginning. 😂 I’m looking forward to more vids. What a marvelous, ridiculous, magnificent idea! After 45 years of riding, from Honda 50 mini bike and trail 70 in the dirt to a Honda ST1300 I sold a few years ago because I just wasn't riding enough anymore. The Honda Trail 125 would be like going back to the beginning, would be a cheap, economical, fun way to get some more two wheel miles in before I retire to a rocking chair for good. Don't know if I'll make across the country, but plenty of two lane and dirt roads and trails here in the California foothills. Thanks for the inspiration.

The t7 is an awesome machine, but yeah, for me the little Honda was a good choice. I seem to always get in a bit of trouble with heavy bikes. Although the Himalayan is about the same weight as the T7 and other than a few sections I probably would have been ok on that.

@@SomeGuyRides I don’t wanna sound like I’m knocking this T7, Yamaha did an excellent job making this bike really forgiving to a very casual rider, imho. There were some trail sections following a buddy where the ground got all loose and I was doing everything wrong, fought the bike and thought for sure I was gonna get flung off. I don't think I'd want to do this on a Trail 125, but I am wanting to get a Rebel 300. Everyone says to get the 500. I thought about it for quite some time. I think I can do everything I want on the 300, including short stretches of interstate. I read a few years ago about a guy who took a Sym 50 cc scooter from somewhere in California to Alaska. I'll watch the entire trip.

Your future self just popped in 😀 Classic! You are very good at this!! Engaged. Excellent. Who cares about direction though dude. Motorcycle freedom is whichever way 😀 I have to tell myself the same. Enjoy and relax (but concentrate of course)

Don’t worry about highway riding with the Trail 125. The people coming up from behind you are watching you out of their windshield. They’re not the people you need to worry about. Worry about the people you are coming up on. They are turning into the road and glancing out their side window to see you. I’m a former ultra marathon bicyclist with nearly 200,000 miles on county roads and highways at 15 mph. I’ve experienced it all, and the danger doesn’t come from people approaching you from behind. The first couple of time you are locked onto those mirrors, and you almost get taken out by a pickup coming out of a side road, you will focus less on the mirrors 👍

Nice to see someone else who also uses a cat-food can style alcohol stove and a single pot. I was a backpacker before a biker and save a lot of space using backpacking packing skills.

Honda totally should have sponsored you. To think that little bike could make it all the way across the country, off-road! Amazing!

11:06 is when the magic starts! 😂🤣😂🤣 I'm reminded of a road trip I took with a buddy from upstate SC to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada when we were 18. We ran out of gas on the highway just outside Charlotte.
