Walalo loves his country, but unfortunately knows very little of it. Somali language is very rich and poetic! For instance look at the word mother in Somali "Hooyo" and the word for home is "guri", but when you want to say going home, you don't say am going to my "guri", but rather " waan hoyanaya"(Going back to my mother), which derives from the word "Hooyo". (could differ from dialect to dialect) This shows the beauty of our language and love for mothers. And cuisines around the world have all the same ingredients. Italians got pasta, whereas Koreans got noodles. Its just how u prepare it I think. Somali food is really up there in my opinion. A lot of interesting topics! Bumped into this while on my nightshift now I can't wait on the second episode, as a victim of dhaqancelis myself hahaha.. and I loved my time back home, if done correctly it could be beneficial. Anyways keep going Walalos!! this podcast is gonna blow up IA.

Tuna and beans is top tier and it’s Somali at this point , reason is many foods have started as struggle meals , examples of foods are chilli con carne which is a American dish that started off as a struggle meal. Jamaicans will hate this but oxtail was once upon a time a struggle meal but became a national dish , who in the world would think of a tail of a ox when there’s a more meat in other parts of a ox or cow. There’s many dishes I could name which started as a struggle

What is a nation without a language? The fact that we have our own language is important in it itself. Just because it's not a practical language in a globalised sense does not mean it's not important and should be erased.

Everyone suffered once Somalia collapsed and everyone has their reasons to be upset but what is the solution? To create 4-5 mini countries out of Somalia? Ethiopia already has Ogaden from us and Kenya has the NEP from us, while Djibouti is it’s own country. We are having Oromos flooding all of Somalia/Somaliland in the millions while having constant foreign interference who are taking advantage of the greed and lack of unity. Remember, United we stand but divided we fall. Not here to dismiss wrong that was done to people but I will always be and advocate of a United greater Somalia.
@ss41697
@ss41697 2 ай бұрын
We are not going to stand United. Somali people are so tribal and majority of people are not intelligent enough to be able to run a country that is multi tribal. It will be another repeat of the previous mess if we join together so I’d rather we all struggle separately than struggle on top of each other.

Hamza is a goat big him up clean hearted shout out birdy as well a lot of good points been made but hamza needs to have a chat with his Awowe cos his history on Somalia is lacking 😂. On the topic of somalinimo i think this concept started when Somalis came abroad and realised there are other ethnic groups out to get us that’s why we stick together but back home it don’t exist we’re are own worst enemy everything’s transactional people wanna make money and don’t care for one another all our politicians are corrupt and our ulema are afraid to speak out May Allah make Somalia great ameen

Dhaqan Celis= Cultural Reform… Nonetheless this is my third time commenting 😂 I love the difference of thought between the two you. Much success. Love from the states. Remember Muslim first, Somali second and lastly Somaliland is a state.. no need for Djibouti and Ogadenia 2.0. There is Strength in unity.

Xuriyad=Freedom…Free to travel amongst the land is how I interpret what I think you want to say based of the context you provided @abtipodcast … my two cents on the Kuwait and Saudi example the brother gave.. they are khaleeji together and the brother with the cowboy hat made the point of 4 brothers, same goes for the khaleejis; they are the sons of one man.. closing statement, there is strength in unity, we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be divided and conquered based off of the prejudice of the wrongs of the past. Brothers fight but what makes us brothers is we fight and make up and because of that we grow stronger together

Plus our language is tied to our culture, when you lose your language you are closest to extinction more than dinosaurs *hypothetically speaking*.. we would be no different than the Native American Indians and the aboriginals across the world.. they’ve been conquered worst than Genghis khan and his biddings across the eastern hemisphere.

I thought the podcast was about embracing somalinimo. The guy on the right is trying everything to denouce, limit, or belittle his somali identity. Behaviours like these are typical in freshies who inherently self-declare an identity crisis.
