Welcome to Bomdila - a small town in West Kemang district also the headquarters of the district. Bomdila has a past with major Buddhist and Tibetan influences. There is not much history available about this place. However, if stories are to be believed, Bomdila was part of Tibet during the medieval period. The Chinese had tried to claim this land in the 1960’s but later withdrew. This is my second visit to Arunachal and first time visiting the buddhist circuit. There's not much to do in Bomdila unlike the famous Tawang and Dirang in the same belt. Though, you need an eye to find stories even in the places where we do not have much to see :) . I got a chance to visit the famous Bomdila Monastery, saw a Mandala in making, visited the Craft Centre, Mandala Top and many more yet-to-be-popular places. Mandala Top is newly built site on the way to Dirang from Bomdila. It is a series of 108 Buddhist stupas built in a circle on top of a mountain. Built in 2017-2018, this place is of religious importance to the locals but it makes a beautiful and unique tourist site too.

Bomdila area was attacked heavily by Chinese marauders in 1962.....as an Indian I am happy to see Bomdila in such a beautiful shape . Jai Hind/ Jai Bharat/ Buddham Sharanam Gachhami !

Nice video.beautiful place.less commercialised .it is a nice place to be away from sky scrapper tall , crowded buildings.nature is always beauty than artificial.scattered population , population has to be controlled.most peoples mentality is more human resources will do more work or more expands.monk life is not easy at lower levels.since they have not used to family problems , job sustainablity , office and family group problems.after some age every body wants to become saint .but young age , mentality must to become a monk or saint.it reminds me king pulikesi' s brother ' naga nandhi bishu ' in pallava dynasty story.sivakami very good dancer in that story.nice place to visit.

I stayed and enjoyed at Bomdila from July,1983 to June,1985 during my service days in APSCBL and so far health is concern it was ultimate best for me and at also Tawang resided for 8 months after that also visited Tenzing gaon, Kalaktang during that period but on those days not to much shops ,hotels were available in Tawang least about dirang and kalatang but by god grace now every places are developing with time

Your vlog came as a virtual pilgrimage to us Buddhists. Thank you. I would add a few points here... Think of the hoary past and the semi-civilised people in whose sentient consciousness the causal nature of this world is to be inculcated. Will it be easier to understand if we redo the concept this way, if you commit good deeds you earn good karmas and your next birth will be better. However, your bad karma will give a miserable next life. While the explanations in the first portion go beyond the common men's comprehensions, those in the second portions are more comprehensible. Similarly, each dancer is a visual representation of the governing deity of some powers (benefic or malefic) and the dance steps are the intricate inter-plays of the Principles of the samsara, the power governing those principles and the actions of men and the resultant consequences of those actions (a kind of equal and opposite reactions). My humble apologies before the learned scholars for treating such profound subject in such foolishly oversimplified manner. Let us enjoy the fanfares of dance and unwittingly earn some good karma. Buddham Sharanam Gachchhami🙏
