As a former mashup DJ, I have used Ableton to DJ for over a decade. You can do everything a normal DJ can do but much much much more. You need to put everything into the set up, from each track to the 'rig'. But after that the possibilities are endless. I don't use headphones at all, just cue points.

@@RockstahRolln I first built this DJ set on a 2012 MacBook Pro with 8gb ram it doesn't take a lot of processor power :)

Really great stuff in this video! I’ve never DJed before but have wanted to for a long time. I’ve been using Ableton for a few years and always wondered what a good way was. Would love to see Episode 2 cover a Push set up!

Thank you for your time to make these video series! Can you suggest what controllers can I use to perform live dj set with ableton? I've heard that Akai Apc 40 is good, apart from it what else can you suggest? Thank you!❤

the Akai LPD8 is also good because it's small and cheap. I got two of them and set them up where one was for track launching, beatmatching and scene control, the other was for looping and FX www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LPD8mk2--akai-professional-lpd8-mk2-mini-8-pad-usb-controller
