I'm Mexican and was in healthcare for 7yrs. Hands down the best nurses I ever worked with were Filipino. Yes, I realize there are great nurses in every ethnicity but TBH I never met a bad Filipino nurse. They all cared so much. When I started I worked all the time. Usually five 12hr shifts a week because I wanted to help everyone out (and TBH I liked the OT money) but that's why I can't do it anymore. I burned myself out so badly and destroyed my health - I worked overnights, developed a decent alcohol dependence... I got out right before the pandemic and I've never been happier or healthier

John!! I love your story about your grandpa. I can relate to it in many ways. I used to care for an elderly woman, who died one day after her late 88th birthday. She was struggling like your grandpa, was on a lot of morphine, quiet, and heavily breathing. Pressure sores, bed bound, and very weak. But she always kept me company, loved to sing, and loved her fruit punch juice. When she was dying in hospice care, ultimately, she awoke from her sleep to say "thank you" to her family and staff that wished her a happy birthday. I also believe in God, his angels, and the Holy Ghost, and I know Our Father and his band of angels was with your grandpa. Grandpa would be so excited and proud of your funny shorts, your big heart, and would love to see you smiling and making us smile! God bless.

At 18 i thought about nursing but decided i already paid it forward. Selfish yet for me the right decision. Also ive been sick a ton and always made sure i had the best snacks and reading material. I did prank the nursing students, nothing to bad. I loved all my nurses after 6 or so months and in and out of there. I missed my friends. Thanks John. 😊😊😊

I miss her greatly still. My mom did home health care to start and 5 years ago retired a CNA. She worked in nursing homes. I was a history major in college and got 2 degrees in it. 10:13 Hi Nurse John! I’m from Venezuela and if there are doctors who really don’t have human warmth! My dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2011 and I had to go to a urologist to get the special prescription of some medicines for him! And I asked him, “Dr., how is my dad? And he with a very high ego. Well, my friend, your dad doesn’t go beyond 6 months!” I kept my composure, I left there with the prescriptions and I started crying and screaming in my car! he died in 2021, it wasn’t 6 months, it was 10 years! But just as you love your grandfather and it still hurts you I know what it is to feel that pain and in my case it is perhaps more unpleasant because I had to do it by video call and it still torments me that it can’t be there for him or for my mom! I love everything you do! The love for your patients! Btw I need to see Mr Smith! ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
