I agree a 100% percent, thank you for having the courage to say out loud what many people think!!!! Parents need to be parents and not buddies!!!! My parents knew where we were at all times and held us accountable for what we said and did. I was born in 1970, my parents spanked, but what hurt worse was the calm "talking to" we got before the spanking, so we knew exactly why we were being punished! My parents loved us enough to discipline us and teach us right from wrong!!! In todays' world, our society is paying the price for poor parenting, crime and etc. Nobody is teaching their kids consequences for their actions, which is hurting them in the long run.
