In this episode we look at DM driven story telling versus Player Driven story Telling and share ways you can make your players feel they are having a real impact on your world. We do this by drilling in to Challenges and Encounters you can throw at your party and give them the power to create a unique solution. I also share a number of these challenges and how the party solved them and basically outsmarted the DM.
We are developing a mini campaign set inside a dark and corrupted swamp. Follow our development as we flesh out a diverse and eclectic biosystem made up of a wide range of races, factions, biomes and creatures all with their own storylines that weave a greater tale as the adventurers push ever deeper.
The adventure will be compatible with most fantasy role playing games and table top adventures!

Great advice, Matt- although I feel like it's always important to remind GMs that they need to be on the same page with their players- if the party doesn't (and/ or doesn't want to) function in a super-creative space, it isn't going to go well if every boss fight is overpowered and requires a creative solution- in fact, isn't that kind of breaking your own rule? :) Still, an excellent reminder that GMs must remain flexible if a campaign is going to be successful!! Great video, and loving the series! Keep up the great work!

Hi Dan, such a good point and I wish I had mentioned it. Some players would totally just prefer a hack and slash dungeon crawl type campaign and new inexperienced players still need to figure out their basic mechanics before pushing the boundaries. I'm finding though with my own group they are smashing the CR encounters suited to their level (from what I've read this is a common problem), so I've been gradually increasing the difficulty (And they are a bunch of game developers who like to figure out game mechanics to beat a game). But totally agree - the overpowered approach should be used sparingly (And be obvious it is overpowered, so a plan is needed - or they run away) I guess my main point is a good plan should be rewarded:) - I'll pin your comment because I think its important to mention.

Very good advice and splendid encounter in the Swamp of Souls! A lot of different situations that play very well off of each other, players really can't just brute force their way through. I'll definitely use this in my game!
