In this video I install a Tremec T56 onto the 2JZ. All the parts I used in this video are from Joel at Grannas Racing.
T56 Kit: www.grannasracing.com/collections/nissan-240sx-t56-magnum-swap-kits-s13-s14/products/s13-nissan-240sx-t56-magnum-f-swap-kit-mkiv-2jz-gr700-gr900-gr1000
Really excited to finally have the engine and tranny together! Just about ready to throw this in the car and get it driving soon. Stay tuned!

Caution with the clutchkit. The pressure plate does not like high rpm and limiter. I snapped two of the pressure plates. Mcleod was supposed to do a lil more r&d after my incidents. Great service but after blowing it twice just went with tilton twin disk. Had no issue after. 8000rpm drift mk4

Awesome video! Quick question, why did you need to pull the oring out of the breather cap? I have the same transmission and mine seems to vent fine without taking it apart.
@TunerFaction
@TunerFaction 10 ай бұрын
Hey boss good question! I did that because I had read about instances where that o ring can be defective and not allow the breather tube to properly vent excess pressure in the transmission! I did it as a preventative measure but I really don't think it was all that nessesary!

9:05 Should “note” to take a measurement of the thickness of the straight-edge and subtract that value from the overall distance measured.
@TunerFaction
@TunerFaction 2 жыл бұрын
Hey 755hp! Because I was taking my measurements from the "back" of the straight edge for both measurements, it's actually not necessary to take the straight edge thickness into account because it cancels out when calculating your air gap. For example, the equation you use to get the distance from the bearing face to the transmission face is: (Distance from bell housing face to pressure plate fingers) - (air gap) = (Distance from bearing face to transmission face). Now lets call our "Distance from bell housing face to pressure plate fingers" "X" and "Distance from bearing face to transmission face" ""Y" so we get: X - (air gap) = Y. Now because I measured from the back of the straight edge for both my X and Y measurements, essentially the thickness of the straight edge was added to both X and Y. lets call the straight edge thickness "Z" so the new equation is: (X + Z) - (Air gap) = (Y + Z). With the equation laid out like this, you can see that the Z's cancel from either side of the equation and it simplifies back to X - (air gap) = Y. Therefore the thickness of the straight edge does not need to be taken into account! I hope this clears things up!
@755hp
@755hp 2 жыл бұрын
@@TunerFaction Yes this does; I did not realize you took the measurement from the backside of the straight-edge. From the camera angle, it looks as if it was the front.

@@TunerFaction I haven't ordered yet but I'm pretty sure I will pickup a RXT 1200HD. I was actually the first one to run this clutch I believe, I helped Joel sort out the base size and bearing face for this specific clutch in the video. Good to hear I'm not the only one. Something is just so weird, I can max out the master adjustment and it still won't disengage fully, it's hard to put into gear sitting still, and you can watch the car lurch forward slightly when you try. Idk what the deal is but I'm already exceeding the power level of this one so I'm going to just upgrade haha. Joel's a good dude though he helped me try and sort this out the best he could via email. Couple of my friends have RXT1200's and love it, which is why i'm considering it. My car is a 700HP street/drag car.

@TunerFaction
@TunerFaction 2 жыл бұрын
Hey brother thanks for the question! So I am running the Grannas Racing wiring harness with this transmission, which makes use of the reverse lockout as intended by the manufacturer, so there is no need to modify the reverse lockout on my application. (There is a video called "prepping for first start" on my channel where I install the wiring harness and go over the reverse lockout). If I were not running that wiring harness, then you are correct! I would have to modify the reverse lockout spring as you stated! Hope this clarifies things!

Do you mind elaborating on why you needed to remove that o-ring from the breather?
@TunerFaction
@TunerFaction 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike! That was one tricky bugger to get out I'll tell ya! I basically used a combo of a small sized flat head screwdriver and locking pliers to get that metal cap off. Once it was off, the o-ring just fell right out! Let me know if this helps!
@nicholasreif3443

@@TunerFaction I have the same question. Rather than how, why did you need to remove that o ring?
@TunerFaction
@TunerFaction Жыл бұрын
@@nicholasreif3443 Of course! So popping out that o-ring just helps the breather tube to breath a little bit better. There have been a couple instances where the o-ring can get oriented incorrectly in the cap and not allow the breather tube to breath, so removing the o-ring ensures that the tube can breath!
