The much awaited DD show Kus Bani Koshur Karorpaet (Who wants to be a millionaire) went on air tonight at 8 pm on Doordarshan’s Kashir Channel.
The show will be telecast from Monday to Saturday at 8 pm from April 29 - July 6, 2019.
The host for the show is a popular face and a well known Kashmiri actor Raees Mohiuddin.
The show is akin to the Hindi KBC hosted by Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Anyone who can speak Kashmiri, hailing from any part of the world, can participate in the show, if registered successfully earlier during the registration process.
The show provides an opportunity to the people of Kashmir to share their personal experiences and stories of their achievements.
About 1, 25, 000 people attempted to register for the show and about 15, 000 were successful registrants. The final contestants to play the ‘fastest fingers first’ were selected after appearing for a written test and camera auditions.

I am from the Jammu area (a Dogra) but speak Kashmiri fluently better than many Kashmiris. The reason I grew up in the Valley and thus also know the people of the Valley. Most are warm-hearted people. This program is wonderful and full of Kashmiri spirit great for our diverse Jammu and Kashmir State. The Kashmiris (both the Pandits and the Muslims) have their own Central Asia Aryan ethnicity culture, language, etc. this is what makes India colorful, Diversity is how Nature and God functions and it is here to stay to make our planet colorful. I am also glad to know the small nation of Kashmir (Bharat) will not become extinct as most Kashmiris (both the Muslims and Pandits) are only marrying among themselves. In such a manner this colorful nation will survive in purity. A few pseudo-westernized ones may have married outside but this should have no major impact.
