All commissioned officer of SAF gets a unique sword with their names and rank engraved in it. Parade commanders are chosen by the parade sgt major after a few rounds of selection once everyone is assembled back in OCS for the final term

Those wearing peak caps are from infantry I think. The berets are worn by those from the support arms (e.g. armour, combat engineers, etc.)

Wow... cyberpioneer has outdone itself again. Every series produced gets better and better. I followed and loved every episode of the Every Singaporean Son trilogy...they were funny at times, inspiring most of the time, and tear inducing occasionally. I guess it is because it brought back memories for every Singaporean son who has gone through the whole process... So what is next? A series on 'reservists'??

85/11(the batch featured) , Only those from the Armour & Commando vocation don their respective berets. The infantry & support arms wore the peak caps.

this officer in my coy was a bully and always looked for ways to tekan the men. everyone was extra careful not to make mistakes and so he could not tekan the men for sometime. then he cooked up some flimsy excuse to tekan the men and after that tekan session everyone cursed him. a group of men were in the toilet cleaning up and someone yelled loudly in hokkien may a car knock him dead and everyone followed suit and yelled loudly 3 times the same phrase. the officer died in rta 3 years after ord . officers , do not be a prick. you went thru ocs only . you are not a combat veteran.

Michael De Santa he rod 1991 i think....cannot tell you his name la. Could be just a freaky coincidence. but i think not...a cpl who got it bad from cursed him once in recreation room when i and a few guys were chilling. He said " may V die in car crash " like a mantra at least 5 times with frightful venom. Made my hair crawl then and now as i recall. V was a real fucker. Cannot say i feel bad for him. Feel bad for his parents though.

@isabel, the sword holders will leave their rifles on the floor while they go forward to receive their awards, after receiving the sword, they will put their swords on the table below for safekeeping and go back to their rifles in their contingent :)

The person on his right will be carrying it for him in the parade when he goes up to receive his sword. I carried for my friend when he went to receive his sword of honour.

This is so disheartening. The specialist are always forgotten even now like it used to be during my time with NS. BMT follow by OCS. So specialist aren't good enough to bask in the limelight of glory?

Hi cyberpioneer, i would like to ask what criteria of the OCT does he needs to have to be the parade commander? i noticed other OCT also has their sword during the parade, how are they chosen? and what sword is that? After parade, does all OCT ( or 2LT) get a sword?

Cyberpioneertv, will there be a webisode about military policeman? It would be quite interesting, especially for the life-endangering deserter operations conducted by the enforcement unit, and the exciting cases investigated by the Special Investigation Branch or even just the normal enforcement of discipline of SAF soldiers.

Pes A you'll definitely be in a combat vocation, and if you're in a leadership batch you have a good chance to go to command school which is SCS or OCS

Sure, do you have plans for an epilogue mini-series like ESS Season 1 had? Hopefully this time you guys cover more cadets, and I'm particularly interested in seeing where Ganesh goes, since Thiaghu's post-BMT SAF career was never showcased in ESS Epilogue 1. Not trying to show racial bias, but I think the Indian officers need some screen time too... This is just a thought from me, not meant to offend anyone in our multiracial democratic society of Singapore. Cheers. :D
