While we're still a few short weeks from returning to the road for spring, summer and fall, we wanted to bring you to one of our favorite places in our own back yard before we leave the Salt Lake City area for the season. Forty-two square-mile Antelope Island sits in the middle of Utah's Great Salt Lake northwest of Salt Lake City, connected to the mainland by a seven-mile causeway. On the island, which is uninhabited and teeming with a massive herd of American bison, it's hard to believe that the suburban bustle of the Wasatch Front is only seven miles away, for Antelope Island might as well be in another world. It's a place to camp, hike, ride horses, learn history, view wildlife (including American bison), and more!
