In this episode, I'm installing solar panel off grid on cabin's wall. The weather alternates between sunny days and weeks of intense cold, creating an unusual and challenging climate. The wolves have come down to search for food, and the road is in really bad condition due to the ice on the North wall of the valley, forcing me to abandon the vehicle after being away for a few days on vacation. Anyway, a new year has begun!

Merci d'avoir regardé cette nouvelle vidéo. J'ai remplacé une caméra de trail par une caméra 4k pour vous emmener encore plus loin dans la vie forestière. Il y aura des innovations techniques à cet égard, cette année, je veux vraiment faire du canal une fenêtre toujours ouverte sur la vie ici dans la forêt alpine

hey Alex, Your stone cabin/barn is fairly large ..... on some episode could you give us a tour of the structure ..... it looks like more of a house structure ... but I would guess some parts of the inside of the "house" do not connect to each other ....yes? You are making good progress but you may need to remove those dormice as you most likely know the reprogreate like steroids and soon those cute few little beings will be a small army .....and apparently they screech and make huge noise and commotion ....I was watching one of Martijn's videos where he describes that even tho he had pointed the inside of the cabin ....the dormice could still get in thru the outside wall and reside within the hollow in between interior and exterior walls and continue to be a problem ..... but Martijn does not want to change the historic look of the outside surface walls ..... plus it would be a Herculean task to point the outside walls. Alex ...what are your thoughts on this ?

Hello Alan! Regarding the cabin, there are two units. I took a tour in one of the early episodes when I was sleeping in an open tent in the larger unit. It was initially a stable, and over the years, I'll figure out how to renovate it. As for the dormice... well, it's quite a problem. I certainly don't want to harm them; in fact, I'm thinking of trapping and relocating them to other abandoned cabins where they can find shelter. They make quite a mess, but what concerns me the most is the integrity of my floor. I was planning to discuss it in one of the upcoming videos, as I'm about to permanently seal the various "pools," as I call them, in the floor modules. Stay tuned!

Hi Linda, actually, it's only the North wall that is cold; for the rest, there has been unusual weather, with temperatures reaching up to 19 degrees Celsius 😅

Hello Julian, how are you? Yes, I had a good holiday, and the road to the cabin needs to be fixed somehow. I think I'll have to ask for help from someone because I don't have the necessary equipment to make certain changes. I briefly mentioned it in the last video, but I'll talk about it again. 💪🙏

Hello, I left the car about a 45-minute walk from the cabin. Yes, here in the mountains, I carry a firearm, but I hate weapons. I keep it for extreme cases and more as a way to make a loud noise than anything else 🙂

I answer to both. Stephen is right, highly unlikely that wolves bother me; it's more plausible to encounter a wild boar. The gun is mainly for making a loud noise to potentially scare the animal away. I hate weapons, and, in any case, there are strong restrictions here in Italy. You can't walk around with guns like in other countries. @bogman192, you can come to Italy without worrying about guns; you can relax, especially in small rural villages 🙂
