Cholesterol is a vital molecule. It is used for bile production, immune system optimization, hormone production, cell membrane construction, etc. The notion that you can strip away this important essential molecule and not suffer serious damage to your body is laughable.

From my experience, people would rather take the maintenance drugs than cut out processed food. The kicker is the claim it's an eating disorder if a person passes on the donuts, cookies and ice cream.

Just had a discussion today with a former coworker about statins. She will take anything they give her. She doesn’t do any research on her own. She takes the stance that I “think” I know more than her physician. It’s frustrating, I try to not discuss some of it with her. She is closed off. One of my chief concerns is that many on statins are showing up with diabetes. I’m not sure if statins are the cause but I think we know more now than we did about cholesterol.

Thank you Dr. Cywes... I have had tinnitus for 20 years. Now I understand that inflammation triggers it. I always knew that if I had sugar (of any kind), it would start the ringing noise in my head. So it is an inflammatory response to sugar. Since I have been on carnivore the episodes of ringing have almost gone away. Knowledge is the power to make better choices in food. And thank you for informing us that fat does not cause inflammation...the good fats (butter, tallow, ruminant fat). BTW, mankind has only been on earth for around 6-7,000 years. Not my fact but God's through the genealogies in the Bible.

Dr Cywes- Excellent presentation, look forward to the other parts to follow. 1- Can you touch on Dr Paul Saladino- he is subconsciously saying Keto/Carnivore is bad for you after long term. The T3&T4 levels, Tyroid issues and some other things by knocking it without really knocking it. He is dancing around it. 2- The KZfaq algorithm and metabolic health videos have been gravitating around HRT lately, especially testosterone in males, how TRT is correcting metabolic disease and correcting hormones all around. What is your thought? And I see some recent breakthrough with daily pill form to give a 4-5 hour half life to mimic the natural testosterone spike in the beginning of the day, without shutting down your own production. It’s compounded with fat to enter the lymphatic system when ingested I think(not sure if they are misrepresenting it). The top health KZfaq creators are talking about TRT but not really explaining it properly for an inform decision. 3- Your June 4th patient, I am down another 12lbs in 3 weeks, still on track for your goals you set. Look forward to our next appointment.

You do know that tobacco users were only 5% of people hospitalized with covid worldwide. I am not advocating for tobacco use but seems to me that when you get everyone to stop using tobacco in America and then you make a virus to attack people that do not have nicotine in their system it looks very evil. Now they trying to get rid of beef and eggs and therefore butter and chicken. People need to think. Don't smoke but eat made up poison products is their motto!

But as a result, I got a CAC score of 600 a few months ago. Fortunately for me, I had been on a ketovore diet for 6 months when I got that score. I started it for weight loss but now I'm in it for life.

That’s awesome, the best advice I can give you. Is in the beginning and next 6 months, change your eating habits and choices. Take this time to re-train your brain to eat and want real good food. Stay away from all processed foods and junk food. Yes this drug helps control your appetite. But don’t eat a slice of pizza when before you had 3-4. Eat real food. No snacking. You will get into a healthy routine and be able to sustain it when you come off Mounjaro

How much of that 20 pounds is fat loss? There is a difference in fat loss and weight loss. I hope you got a body scan before you started so you will know how much muscle mass you are losing!!!!!
@iconoclastic23
@iconoclastic23 Ай бұрын
@@williamdkellyMuscle loss frequently accompanies weight loss, especially rapid weight loss, but it's far from inevitable. When you do eat, make sure it's foods high in protein like eggs and do some resistance training a few times a week and it will send your body the proper signals to keep that muscle while burning the fat. Another thing you can do is walking while carrying a little weight in a rucksack, it's like combining cardio and weight training in one.

Proud of you, I'm on a similar journey right now and I truly think, like the doc says, that carbs are an addiction and the GLP1 medication gave me the chance to break it. There's often so much shame wrapped up in being overweight and obese and "I'm just lazy and can't do it" becomes the story we tell ourselves that perpetuates that cycle. But I have a new story, I'm on a path now that future me will love me for having gotten on and I can't let that person down for anything. Good luck and please stay strong.

100% agree that a diet that is “non” inflammatory is preferred. However as it is part of physiology, I see maintaining metabolic “flexibility” as valuable in health promotion. On a personal note, when I wake, I’m not in ketosis (therefore doing some glyco-neogenesis sugar burning?) I don’t see this as an issue as I convert to ketosis as day progresses and when blood tested find a hsCRP of 0.4.

Dr. Cywes, thank you for all the educational content you're putting out there, it's really an amazing island of good information in the sea of lies that are throw at us. Something popped in my mind since you mentioned it in this video. Following your recommendation, I think a couple of months ago I ordered the continuous ketone monitoring device you mentioned in one of your videos. Truth be said, I didn't wore a CGM too, as you said. But the results we're a little bit off, so to say. I'm doing keto (mostly ketovore, not a big fan of veggies) since 2018, so I kinda learned how my body feels when I'm in ketosis and when I'm not. And with 2MAD and always between 1500-1800 cals/days and 16 hours IF, most of the time I'm in. But the readings on the device looked more like a rollercoaster, and were showing me like 10% of the time above the 0.5 line. Which seemed a little bit weird. Just curious about your experience :)... Thanks again!

I have been 100% carnivore for 6 months and my CRP is high. Doctors say it's the pro-inflammatory carnivore diet causing the CRP to stay between 15-22 consistently. CRP has never been elevated in all the decades of my annual bloodwork. I have no idea what to do now as there is no explanation for this and the only change to my lifestyle is the carnivore diet. Figures, the one thing that has helped me so much is a major problem and needs to stop immediately according to the medical advice.

Is it possible that root cause of hyperglycemia and insulin resistance is due to consumption of seed oils, with subsequent oxidation of omega 6 fatty acids incorporation into cell walls, causing insulin receptor damage? This could also be one of the primary causes of endothelial damage with clotting and cardiovascular disease. Mitochondrial walls could also suffer oxidative stress from incorporated omega 6 fatty acids. If this hypothesis is correct, hyperglycemia, elevated triglycerides, CVD, neurodegenerative diseases, and autoimmune diseases would all share a common etiology: chronic inflammation caused by oxidized omega 6 fatty acids incorporated into the walls of cells and mitochondria.

Can you please elaborate ? I am genuinely interested How much did the score come down ? I recently watched a pod cast with Dr Agatston, - the Agaston Score creator - and he claims the CAC score does not come down. Thank you

@@ctrl_alt_del I've watched quite a few videos from Dr. Agatston. This is a tough one because I've heard many docs, including Agatston, say you can't lower a CAC score (mine is 600). But I've also heard you can lower it. Not sure who to believe on this matter anymore. I am on 20mg of Rosuvastatin because I've heard that a statin can calcify (stabilize) soft plaque (the stuff that kills you). So, apparently, taking a statin can actually raise your CAC score due to it calcifying soft plaque that now will show up on a CAC test where it wouldn't have before. Just so hard to figure all this stuff out. This is why I booked an appt with Dr. Cywes in August.

Hey Doc, I have an appt with you in late August. I'm going to get labs done at another facility prior to the appt so we can discuss them. I'll get the usual tests (CMP, Lipid NMR, fasting insulin, etc). Are there any additional tests you recommend I get?

Are you taking actual steps over that bridge to the endpoint of cessation, or just switching up the nicotine delivery mechanism?

Does sugar substitutes that are approved on low carb diets work the same as regular sugar in our body's?
@HaleyK-si7ch
@HaleyK-si7ch Ай бұрын
I tried Keto, using the sugar substitutes, and could not lose the weight and craved what I thought was 'good' desserts. I also had brain fog, felt stressed and my bones hurt. Stopped the sugar subs and within a few days I felt a relief in my body. I knew I was on the right track. So IMO, the sugar subs still process in our bodies as real sugar would.
