Have you ever heard of a working bee? I'm not talking about bees, but a group of people coming together to tackle a larger project.
I'm so excited for today's episode with Andrea from ‪@ancestralkitchen8979‬ as we discuss working bees and how they're still relevant in our lives today.

Texted three friends that talked about this last year together and we’ve got us a canning bee scheduled! It was the “we’ve got to cook anyways and we are all too busy to hang out, so do it together” that worked! We are doing some basic canning and some freezer meals! One of my friends has canned for a while, I’ve done it for a little bit but am not scared of it anymore, one has never done it and one is exceptional at meal prepping and planning. Together, we are gonna gitter done! It’s not happening til mid October but that’s okay! We can buy things to can if we want and it gives us time to plan, etc. I can’t wait. Thank you for this podcast/vlog ladies!

Blessings to you Titus woman, and this bee was refreshing. Brought to life former times and experiences as part of a sharing community, that helped their own but other communities too. Biblical good values in practice. Everything old is new again.

What a great episode! I have been coordinating freezer meal prep days with my sister-in-laws for years and now their adult daughters join us. It’s a day of sisterhood, laughter, and bonding for sure. Not to mention the gratitude for filling our freezers with ready to heat meals!

Great episode. The closest I’ve been to these working groups has been church funeral dinners and the monthly meal our church does at the Salvation army center. It was nice working together for a common goal. I haven’t been able to do them lately and I miss them.

I loved this podcast. I actually have known a family that has a canning house and have canning bees every year. Multiple women attend and they can the produce for that day while their children play on the farm and they all take some home. Many hands make light work.

My church has work bees at least once a quarter. The members all get together and they do yard maintenance or inside maintenance or cleaning whatever happens to need to get done at the church.

oh my Gosh, Racheal Lynn ha ha ha, my friend and I use to ask each other what room this week you cannot get to. Then we would go work on that room for one nigh during the week. We would switch each week to someone else's home.

I clicked on the video because I read "working bee" as "worker bee". It's funny how your mind plays tricks on you and you see what you want to see. As I listened to your conversation, I was struck by how much wisdom there was in it. I reember, growing up in an area where the women were always popping in and out of each others houses drinking endless cups of tea (I'm in England and we drink a lot of tea here). I have to admit that I didn't understand the social network aspect and I resented it a little. I saw it as a "gossip group" but, now I see that I was wrong (maybe 🤔). I have to say: I agree wholeheartedly with your comment about "social network" groups (which can be anti-social sometimes). There is lots of: my views are the only views that matter and, if you disagree or don't support me 100%, there's something wrong with you. These are basically just ego-trips and people drift off very quickly.

I’ve only ever known it as a work bee as opposed to working bee. Probably just a regional phrase.

I really don't like these zoom-looking videos. I hate to be talked at for an hour by people with headsets. I like your videos where you show hands-on demonstrations indoor and outdoors.
