My wife and I are hooked! You two are great and the lessons from your adventures hit home. I’m new to the ultra world, ran a 50k last year and aiming for a 50mile this year. I don’t have any social media and could use some advice on how to connect and be a part of the community. Keep doing what your guys are doing!

Sally, after running my first half marathon at 22 after an awfully painful breakup, I sank into a decade of depression. Became obese and started smoking. A few years ago, my husband told me “wouldn’t it be great if you could use that energy that is bringing you down and causing anxiety for something positive”. I stopped taking antidepressants, quit smoking, started running 15 minutes a day, studied to become a personal trainer and nutritionist. Now I’m 30 kg down and training for my first marathon. I feel strong. Coming across your channel has me getting ultras in my mind. Thankyou for sharing what you share. I’m so inspired.

I was laughing so much listening to you both today on my run. I look forward to your podcast. I just finished my first 40 mile race in 12 hours and I came in second. I had on my yellow runner hat and so many people were complimenting the hat. You are such an inspiration and I don’t know if you realize how much you touch people. You have helped me so much. I ran since I was in my teens. Not a fast runner but just loved running. A few years ago, I was in a bad car accident and eventually had to have cervical neck surgery at 3 levels. I was told prior to the surgery that I wouldn’t run again and I was so depressed. Running has been the one constant in my life. When my grandma died, I ran and cried. When good things happened I ran. Well, it has been 8 years since my surgeries and I’m running strong. I just want to thank you both because you make me laugh and provide encouragement. I’ll be 54 years old this year and I feel like I’m running stronger than ever. I will also be running the LA marathon, as it was my first marathon many, many years ago. I’ll have on my yellow runner hat ❤ thank you again.

Thank you for the discussion regarding getting to the root cause of “why you don’t believe in yourself”. I feel that in certain aspects of my life and it hit home pretty hard. It’s like, how do I let my past still control my thoughts about myself and my worthiness and why DO I believe things to be true that really aren’t? I grabbed a pen and opened a notebook. I wasn’t expecting to have such deep and emotional thoughts on a Friday evening but I need to address them. Thank you.

You both are such an inspiration. Genuine, true, not afraid to highlight hard work gets results. I first heard of you Sally on Ethan Newberry’s film Crewing States which I watched in 2018 before my first ultra & since then was hooked. I was not a runner & before 2018 had never tried to run more than 6 miles in a row. Sally & Eddie I enjoy listening to your support of each other. You provide inspiration & motivation to continue enjoying trail runs in the mountains and working it into my lifestyle. Because of you two I continue to be inspired to push myself to put in the work & through your highlights of others show there is not a specific “runner body” but in fact everyone who #DTW can be an ultra runner & enjoy this great supportive community. Thank you for what you do!

Oh the laughter...what joy yesterday grinding it out on the trainer with my BFFs! 😁😁 What a beautiful testimony, Sally---our foundation, our identity each new day is in Christ Jesus, amen! 🙏And hey, if you guys haven't been up for a visit to PEI, you MUST plan that in sometime...what a beautiful Island, especially running across the singing sands! Please tell me you've watched Anne of Green Gables? That's def gotta be the prerequisite to the visit. 🤩 God bless, Megan ps. Eddie, way to DO THE WORK; you'll rock this marathon! 💪
