Miss your huge set and what you played with Dio. I saw your huge set at the Spectrum in Philly in 1984 on the Ladt In Line tour. Twisted Sister opened for you guys. They had no backdrop and played on the floor. Dio was the main attraction. A huge black curtain was around you guys stage. It rose then there was a giant pyramid that rose up which hid your kit. I think that's how it went. I wasn't all there at the time thanks to Moosehead and some unprescribed medication 🤪😳 Anyway your drum 🥁 solo was awesome. I remember a little of it and the neon guitar 🎸 😳 Great times and shows in that era across tge board. All the best! 👍🏆👍

Hello Vinny! There are so many things I could say. Here are a few. Mob Rules is the greatest hard rock/metal album I've ever heard (and for whatever it's worth I'm old enough to have heard the Ozzy Sabbath first). Also, Dehumanizer is such an under appreciated album. As you know, by 92' grunge had just completely taken over everything in rock music, and if you weren't from Seattle, or didn't sound like it, your album was basically going nowhere. Such a shame because Dehumanizer is such a great album. You were one of my biggest influences on drums when I started playing. I've always felt you had your own unique thing. Of course I can hear some things from Carmine in your playing, and Bonham (whom you've referenced many times), but I've just always felt you had your own very unique sound and style, and the older I get I think that's more important than being able to play like Thomas Lang. Case in point- Stewart Copeland. When I was younger I didn't appreciate him so much, now I think Copeland is brilliant. Oh, and although I understand why you'd probably never go back, I always loved your single headed drum set up that you used for so many years. Another for what's it worth comment: when you and Ronnie and Tony & Geezer played together it was BLACK SABBATH. I never referred to you guys as H&Hell. I understood, at least I think I do (Sharon/Ozzy legal B.S.) why you played under that name, but when I saw you 3 times from 2007 til Ronnie's Death I always told people that I was going to see BLACK SABBATH in concert. And BLACK SABBATH is what I saw Vinny. Lastly, and I had to throw this in, I lived in So Cal for over 15 years and met you and Carmine each more than once. You were cool both times I met you Vinny. Some friendly advice: Fatburger kicks In N Out's a**. Nearly every person I would tell this too would come back to me and tell me they agreed. Fatburger is KING. You must try it if you haven't. P.S. - Strange Highways is probably tied with Dream Evil on my list of most under rated Dio albums.
