It was my pleasure sitting down with Jason and checking out his new awesome rig by Buster. Guys if you're serious about hotshot. You can't go wrong with a setup like Jason's. 👊🏻💪🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙌🏻🙌🏻

that's how I do my straps, a guy showed me that about 15 years ago and a lot of people have never seen that before, when people see me do it that way they just look at me like what kind of wizardry have you just preformed in front of me.

Great video and AWSOME to run into one of the greats out there on the road and great idea for the straps. Simple quick and easy ! I’ll be trying that as soon as I get rolling. I thought about Velcro ties too instead of zip ties similar to how boat trailer tie downs are made. Hotshot driver who delivered my new trailer last week used spring clamps similar to heavy duty chip clips which I thought was more practical than zip ties but the way You did in this video may be the best way I’ve seen or thought of yet 👍

Jason I'd like to know how to finance your sleeper
@DreamInspired
@DreamInspired 3 жыл бұрын
You either buy a new truck at a dealer that works with RoadMaster, you can call RoadMaster and ask who to go thru and they will be able to get the truck and sleeper financed together... Or you pay cash or find your own financing via bank or credit somewhere. I paid cash for mine so I can’t say exactly how as I don’t have that experience. Cooper Motor Company in South Carolina would be 1 place to check out. I believe I covered them on Episode 52.

What length of trailer you need for hot shot trucking and what year does your trailer need to be and what year can your pickup truck be to do this business.?
@DreamInspired
@DreamInspired 5 жыл бұрын
Honestly, you can start with any year or length... I started with a 2001 F350. My recommendation tho is that you start with a new or new-ish truck. My F350 broke down on my very first run. Check Ep 3. It was a sad day. You first need to figure out if you’re going to be a CDL or non CDL driver. If you buy a truck, I wouldn’t go with anything less than a 3 series. That’s gonna be your 3500s and F350s. For a trailer, mine is 40’ long and I’ve never had anything smaller. I have friend who have 25-32’ long and I making good money tho so it’s up to you and also what is available when your searching.

So many people get excited talking with him, but he puts out so much incorrect or illegal information. When new people ask for information on how to do stuff for this business, he tells them how to beat the system, instead of telling them the proper way to do it. He uses the attitude that it is his truck and he can do it however he wants. He doesn't have to follow what FMCSA says. He has even made statements like apportioned tags are on farm vehicles too, so mean nothing if he has one on his truck, which shows he doesn't know what he is talking about. He removes his USDOT # off his truck and then puts a "Not For Hire" decal on, so he can do something to get around FMCSA rules. I've been to seminars sponsored by DOT, where officers have stated, that if they see a Not For HIre decal on a truck, they will stop you. They figure that means you are doing something wrong. And this video also showed he is in the group that many truck drivers call, "steering wheel holder", as he runs around the truck stop in his flip flops, instead of a good pair of closed toe shoes or boots.

I mean I can agree on some part and disagree on others but speaking from your point as a veteran in this industry, I value and respect everything you put forth and as where I’m not a veteran and I’m still learning daily, I truly value the diversity in outlooks, views, and experience other guys have to offer. It was very enlightening to sit down and hear his take on some key points in the industry and as soon as the chance comes around, I’d love the opportunity to pick your brain on a few things in a 1 on 1 sit down. If that’s something we can work into the schedule some day, please let me know. There’s so much out there to learn and the quickest way to success is to find yourself around the people who are already seeing it. Thanks for always being here Happy Pappy!

The other thing with that is if the driver can have a passenger ride with him. If he is leased on to a company, their insurance may not allow it. The other thing is FMCSA ruling on transporting a passenger. § 392.60 Unauthorized persons not to be transported. (a) Unless specifically authorized in writing to do so by the motor carrier under whose authority the commercial motor vehicle is being operated, no driver shall transport any person or permit any person to be transported on any commercial motor vehicle other than a bus. When such authorization is issued, it shall state the name of the person to be transported, the points where the transportation is to begin and end, and the date upon which such authority expires.
