Genuine question as a Timberwolves fan? Why will they be wide open 3s? The only way they are open is if they double one of kyrie or Luka, and even then Minnesota is better at rotating on defense than any other team in the nba. Luka has historically struggled against Mcdaniels, and Ant has proven he can matchup with kyrie 1 on 1 in the past. While i obviously don’t think Minnesota will shut either of those players out, because good players will get their numbers no matter what, I don’t think open 3s should be one of your keys to the game, especially considering the Timberwolves just beat the nuggets who are way better at finding the open man. Its what they do. No offense by the way. If you are taking wide open 3s all series long, you will win the series. Now, if one of your keys was we need to make all of our open shots, then yes. I agree. They will happen throughout the series no matter what. Especially when a team adjusts to the other teams strategy. Maybe mavericks will go 5 out small with pj Washington at the 5, and Luka at the 4 for a game to throw Minnesota off. That’s what’s cool about NBA series is just seeing how a team adjusts.

I think keys to the game if I was being neutral would be.. 1. Luka doncic and kyrie Irving strategy to get mcdaniels and ant off of them in pick and rolls because going at them 1 on 1 for an entire game is a losing battle. 2. Limiting kat, Gobert, and Reid with pj Washington and Gafford. Not let them win the rebounding battle. 3. Send 2 players at Ant all the time. Make him pass the ball early and don’t let him get in a rhythm. 4.How will the role players shoot in this series on both sides? Mcdaniels, Reid, Conley, and walker for Minnesota. Pj Washington, Gafford, Josh green, and hardaway for mavericks. (I’m not sure who I missed on the mavericks, but do let me know) 5. Heart. I know this sounds cliche, but in game 7 of Timberwolves vs nuggets, Minnesota was diving in the ground, crashing the glass, and doing all the small things Denver wasn’t. It was the difference in the series.

That's why one of the keys is to have pick n roll switch with Gobert. Luka can take on Gobert any time. So that's why I believe MIN will blitz Luka. And when they blitz, it will be 4 against 3 that's why someone will always be open. Not saying MIN will not rotate, and I know they can really defend. But the 3s I'm saying will always be a catch and shoot

Not also sure about Luka struggling against McDaniels. I think he scored 39 and 33 against him this season and that's even before the trade deadline. But hey, it's the playoffs, so let's see. And to be honest, I know MIN will really be a tough matchup. But like I said, I still believe in our team and I know Kidd will have a gameplan for them. And as a basketball fan and Mavs fan, I know that I'll see 2 teams playing honest physical defense. Really can't wait for game 1!

MIN Are a way better defensive team than both LAC and OKC I do think the MAVs will win but it has to come down to the role players and hope they hit their shot and getting back on defence. Luka has to just play and not complain to the refs, Kyrie has to put his scoring cap on and hope pj is still gonna be balling like he has been. Lively needs to play like he did in game 6 against OKC he's great and we need him for them big lads in the paint in KAT and Gobert

@@gavinjordan2157 I see big diffence between twolfs and LAC and OKC in fact that OKC and LAC had 4-5 players tha can defend all positions in play all time. Twolfs have 3 players that can defend only 1-2 positions. Gobert need to be under basket or he is lost, Conley just opposite, cat has slow feet. Those 3 will be abused and twolfs has noone to replace those 3. Just look what mavs did to gidey!
