I take the first major step in removing the engine from the boat. I use the boom and a chain hoist to lift the Yanmar of its bed and onto the main cabin sole.
Reverie is a Southern Cross 28, hull #34
The Southern Cross 28, also called the Gillmer 28, is an American sailboat that was designed by Thomas C. Gillmer and first built in 1978.
"a diminutive sturdy cruiser that is capable of mighty bluewater passages"

I love how you use peaceful, chill music for such an astronomically pain in the ass task. 😄

The only thing simpler than that sweet little diesel is a British Seagull outboard.... would fit right into the diy seamanship life you're designing.

Thanks Tony! I do work full-time. I try to get to the boat once a week if I can.

Great work. Have you a time frame in mind for completion? What are your future plans for the boat?

Thank you! I don't have a specific time frame, but what would need to be done before being able to get the boat usable again are replacing the bulkheads, basic electrical, and figuring out the auxiliary propulsion. Future plans are to coastal cruise until I am comfortable enough with the boat to attempt some longer or even offshore passages.
