The next chapter of our adventure begins! Andy and I head out into the Western Cape in the Toyota Hilux for a Solo vehicle Overlanding Adventure in search of some of South Africa's top Overlanding, 4x4 and Camping Destinations! First up is Kagga Kamma in the Cederberg! We test our newly installed Terrain Tamer Pro Shock suspension on the gravel roads too our campsite at the Klipspringer Boma Camp in Kagga Kamma. We have a lovely evening as the sun sets over the cederberg and we rest up for a big day of 4x4ing on the offroad trails the next day! With water erosion washing away most of the roads, we were sure to have some great action as we flex the suspension over some rocky sections and enjoy incredible scenery all around!

You should probably consider retro fitting a front forwarding camera to get a clearer view of the path ahead. That blind spot over the bonnet especially over steep mounts. Love your work Andy….👍

I’ve always wanted to, and I could do it with the Garmin Overlander, it has the ability to have up to 4/5 cameras. I use currently the reverse one. I should setup a front facing one some time

Africa seems a very windy place or maybe it's the timing of your trips. Idk. I appreciate your videos more than the guy who left Africa and went to Perth Australia. You are doing an excellent job in every way. Respecting the tracks and thinking of other 4wder's. You really know what you're doing and built a great vehicle right the first time. I'm sure you'll keep up the great work you do. Well desrved of any sponsors 100%. 👌👍🏻

Andy should look into stretcher tents (like the ones from OzTent & OzTrail). This, and a self-inflating mattress are better suited than a ground tent on hard and uneven grounds. Plus a stretcher tent, packs a lot smaller (diameter wise) than traditional swags. But he probably won't have a tent problem soon, when his Isuzu is ready. But if he still wants to 4WD camp using a tent, I highly recommend a stretcher tent. Till the next one.👍

@RoamOverlanding

This tent setup will definitely not work on a Jimny. Best thing for a Jimny is a ground tent. If you treat it like a hiker or a biker you will have the best time with it 👌🏻

Craig, you can do that whole trail that Adrian did in a 4x2. I did it just after Adrian.
@RoamOverlanding
@RoamOverlanding 2 жыл бұрын
@@sebastianbarrett4632 I still wouldn’t recommend doing in a 4x2 😂 Incase the conditions worsen, or it rains or whatever. If you do end up damaging your vehicle somehow you are a bit stuffed and are then going to have to waste the resources of other people to help you. You have to be very confident in your vehicle. But yes, there aren’t many hectic axle twisters that would require full 4x4, but having low range for the control is definitely nice, less wheel spin = less damage to the trail.

@@sebastianbarrett4632 there is a social responsibility when you are an "influencer"; so I cant recommend someone does something potentially unsafe; you can all you want. I might have that convo in private with someone, but publicaly, if its a 4x4 trail and recommended by the land owners as a 4x4 trail, then thats what I will say is recommended. If you as an individual go there and decide in your 4x2 you want to do it, then thats up to you and you accept your glory or failure. I am sure you understand what I mean.
