Welcome to our Summer 2019 trip to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida! It's our two week summer spectacular! We booked our flight using our Virgin Atlantic Airmiles and managed to get Upper Class seats flying from London Gatwick to Orlando MCO, and Premium Economy for the return flight.
For the first week of our trip we stay at Disney's Coronado Springs - and we really love it there. With our booking we got free Disney Quick Service Dining, and we planned our meals to take full advantage of it.
For our second week we moved to a condo at the Oakwater Resort.
So come and join us for dining reviews, Disney merch shopping, park fun, tit sweat and wind!
This is the first part of our Travel Day.
After spending a night at Bloc Hotel at Gatwick we fight our way through the crowds in the duty free shop and head to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. It's lovely! And we order a couple of breakfasts and some cocktails, despite it being early morning. The flight is wonderful. The Airmiles we spent to fly Upper Class were well worth it. We felt very privileged: the food was so good; the staff were wonderful; and the cabin is so roomy.
In many ways it was the perfect flight, but it was only when we got off the plane that we discovered all was not right...

Watched this about 6months ago when we first booked our flights and now watching it again as it seems we won’t actually be using those flights ☹️, well not this year I don’t think . Thx for upload. I flew upper from LGW to Barbados in feb and loved the Clubhouse. Found it a more fun personable service than the LHR one. The staff just seemed more paid back which I loved.

Ooooooo, Upper, how nice - I have always wanted to do it, just once. You guys never fail to make me smile and actually laugh out loud - "waving it around like a bingo ticket"... That lounge just looks so lush. "Nobody wants a bit of fatty meat for breakfast"... "No spread on his sausage"... I know it is probably more a reflection on my mind but I just can't help hear innuendo! Awwww the little salt and pepper shakers - so cute. And yes, the new graphics look awesome. Fantastic start to the series guys! I can't wait to follow your adventures.

ello ello ello - something odd going on with Comments. We replied to this the other day, but now it's showing up that we haven't replied, so apologies for that, have no idea why! We were saying that we hope that everyone gets to experience Upper at some point in their life - especially to MCO just to add to the magic of the journey! And we can't believe that you guys have been, are back and had your vlogs coming out - the last couple of months have flown by! And no-one does like a bit of fatty meat for breakfast, do they? We were very lucky to be using that lounge and filling ourselves to the brim! Hope the three of you are well. and that the Disney Blues aren't being too unkind to you! xx

They guy did seem a bit overwhelmed by what he needed to do with his ticket at the automated barrier! We were very lucky to have bagged those tickets. It really made a difference to how we felt when we arrived. If you do see those Haribo then maybe save your hard earned cash. They really weren’t anything to write home about 🤦🏼‍♂️

Haha! The lounge was lovely and so were the drinks. And free booze is free booze, no matter what time it's offered! Those Haribo really were disappointing - like milk bottle sweets but with disappointing flavours that are not as promised! Thanks for watching!

If I come back in another life things I must remember to do: Join Avios or whoever to get air miles, have been 10 times since 2009. When staying at Newport Bay go to DVC counter and buy for Orlando, Passed this desk so many times 20 years ago but never knew what it was for

Mr David & Mr Ian I subscribed quite awhile ago to your channel. I occasionally get behind on vlog watching and I lost track. My loss. I’ve been going to Disney World since 6 days after it opened so I love nothing more than watching others vacation at my favorite place. We started our vlog almost three years ago (Disney trips and life here in Manhattan), but still finding our way. A fellow graphic designer too! I love your cheekiness hehe. Although the Virgin Clubhouses always look amazing, I cannot abide sitting with my back to the window and the smelly feet of dozens of strangers thrust into the aisle. Even in my old age, I love staring out the windows especially at take off and landings. As for the smelly feet...So, I am stuck with American or Delta until Virgin puts one of their new A350 into service to MCO. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!

Woah, £900 total!! That's amazing! That lounge looked so nice and upper class looks awesome. All worth it for those little salt and pepper planes! We're still working on those air miles... we'll get there eventually! We've heard a lot of people struggle with using air miles so it's good to hear you found it easy. Really enjoyed this vlog - you guys are so funny!

We find airmiles collecting so addictive! However despite our luck last year we are struggling to find any currently for next summer - but we are putting that down to BA and Virgin offering less as they now have more demand for paid-for flight following the demise of Thomas Cook... but we’re still checking.

Thanks so much for this - it is my dream to be able to fly first class / club whatever gets me a bed. I absolutely hate flying I feel the motion way to much so just feel rough the whole time. Whilst I don’t eat at all, so the food is totally wasted on me I’d still pay (if I could afford it) just so I could lay down and try and sleep the whole way. I’m glad you got to do it at such an amazing price! Onto episode 2 🥰 x

Ahhhh, the seats you get to play footsy with the person opposite! Hope you both took full advantage of that! How did you find the seats? We considered it but we assumed that you’re looking at a wall for the trip, whereas further back you get a sense of the spaciousness of the cabin, which we like. Did you feel hemmed in an claustrophobic? All that being said, if it was offered for free we’d not say no to any of them! Thank you so much for watching !

No, there wasn’t steak! We were surprised too, but very happy with what we got! It’s not the best sleep, but we’re not complaining! It’s a very lovely way to fly, and we don’t take it for granted.... but once you’ve done it it does ruin your life! Hence our continued obsession with accruing air miles in all forms!

hi david and ian , glad you arrived safely .omg well Thomas cook is no more so couldn't enjoy the premium econ to mexico however im now on tui premium to Mexico 3rd dec. cant wait. I love your travel vlogs, you guys are fantastic and funny. . do you think you will try Mexico and do travel vlogs there or is orlando the only place you will do this . . . im always driving to Gatwick or lhr with my job so if you guys are ever there please meet up with me and I would love to chat . Hi Dave - so pleased that you got your holiday sorted. That really is great news! And December will be here before you know it. Mexico isn’t on our list at present but never say never! And we’ll let you know next time we stay over at LGW, but we have no overnight stays planned currently!

Great vlogs guys flying out in 24days with virgin in PE and staying at Coronado springs. Would live to try upper class but haven't enough points as yet. Going to Australia next year with stop over in Singapore hoping to upgrade to business on Qantas as we have quite a lot of points from previous trip but also saving in case we have to pay a small amount

Very exciting that you’re now a handful of weeks away from your trip! The view from the bar at the top of the Gran Destino tower is wonderful! The restaurant up there wasn’t our favourite (but more on that in a couple of weeks vlogs!) The Quick Service has come on leaps and bounds since our visit last year. We ate there a lot! The Mexican rice and meat bowls were so tasty and so filling! And we loved PE with Virgin for our return trip! Very, very excited about your trip! And hope you do get to upgrade your super long haul flight - we’re not sure we could ever do a flight that long!

That is a most random curry choice. We love a curry but even we may have struggled with that! But yes, it was lovely turning left. Will never be taking that for granted. Hope the Disney and Florida Blues arent too bad for you guys - and thank you for catching up so quickly. We are so looking forward to seeing your adventures too. Love to you both x 🖤

You earn points from the airlines for every mile yi fly. Those points can be traded later for free/discounted flights.
